Manufacturing Production Engineer (Job Number: 015767W-01)
The Production Engineer will provide day-to-day technical support to all aspects of Tedlar® Film manufacturing from raw materials through finished product. The role will serve as a vital resource for Operations by applying technical skills to optimize plant operations, resolve plant problems, and enable safe and efficient production of high quality product.
This role is located at the Circleville Site, which is approximately 30 miles south of Columbus, Ohio. Circleville is a mutli-business site. In addition to Tedlar® film, the site has units that manufacture Vespel® resin, Kapton® film, and Teflon® film.
The Circleville Tedlar® organization is a High Performance Work System (HPWS) structure, which encourages high levels of engagement and empowerment within the work teams.
Tedlar® is part of the Photovoltaic & Advanced Materials Business.
Conducts work activities and demonstrate leadership behavior consistent with DuPont Core Values.
Takes ownership of process performance for metrics of safety, production rate, yield, uptime, and cost.
Participates as part of a team to upgrade products and processes by implementing modifications ranging from incremental daily improvements to technology game changes, including scale up of new products/technology and support for capital projects.
Actively participates in strengthening PSM performance and compliance, including leading PSM elements as needed.
Helps to train personnel and build technical capability of work teams
Serves as first response to plant technical issues and assists in trouble shooting process or equipment issues.
Delivers a collaborative and team based approach to troubleshooting, problem solving, and driving to root cause solutions.
BS in Engineering
Six Sigma Green Belt Certification (can acquire while in role)
5 years of manufacturing experience
Strong communication skills with capability to collaborate and develop win/win solutions.
Knowledge of manufacturing unit operations, including raw material mixing, slurry transfer, extrusion, film casting/winding/slitting and flake handling.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects/tasks, adapt to changing conditions, and balance a “big picture” focus with detailed execution.
Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex process and production issues using multiple disciplined teams and data driven analysis.
