2018 Summer/Fall Co-Op: Research & Development - Integrated Field Science (Job Number: 017788W-01)

DuPont Pioneer sponsors a variety of co-ops in agricultural research across many field research centers in North America. A number of these research centers house both plant breeding and trait development research activities. Sharing resources across these breeding and trait development groups facilitates more efficient integrated product development. Thus, Integrated Field Science co-ops at these research centers will provide the opportunity for candidates to obtain diverse experiences across these functions responsible for integrated product development.

Candidates will work closely in plot management, and precision phenotyping tasks associated with plant breeding, trait development, plant growth modeling and crop protection projects. Co-ops will also have the opportunity to manage their own research project with the expectation of a verbal report to the larger intern group at DuPont Pioneer in Johnston, IA at the conclusion of their term. These co-op positions provide excellent experience that can be applied to full time positions in the industry, or in preparation for additional graduate level training in the plant sciences.

These joint positions are available at several locations including Garden City, KS, Marion, IA, Union City, TN, Mankato, MN, Macomb, IL and Lawrence, KS, Applicants may indicate geographic preference, or confirm their potential interest in all the locations.

Qualifications

  • Candidates at Junior or Senior level in an undergraduate program

  • Agronomy, biology, genetics or ag business majors, and with interests in careers in agricultural research will be prioritized.
