Plant Manager Melle (Job Number: PLA00001050)
This position will manage the overall operation and all aspects of a medium size manufacturing facility (+/-120 employees), with high hazard process (Seveso site) and food safety manufacturing units including production, maintenance, technology, and other manufacturing units/functions. Is also responsible for environmental, safety, food quality/safety, security, quality control, local warehousing and shipping.
Ensures continuous and efficient production in desired quantity, food quality, and product quality, cost effective maintenance, and appropriate technology support. Sets expectations and work environment standards necessary for successful operation. Ensures appropriate personnel planning, staffing, and performance management. Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, safety and food safety standards and country regulation, authorizations and permits. Interacts with the community to maintain right to operate. Deals with employee representatives and unions. This position will report to the N&H Systems & Texturants Manufacturing and Supply Chain Leader.
The responsibilities for the Plant Manager position will include but are not limited to:
Safety, Health, Environmental, Food Quality and Safety & Core Values
Establishes managing processes for advancing and ensuring consistency of Core Values (SHE/PSM, Ethics & Respect for People) across the site.
Ensures regulatory compliance across all core values including food safety.
Leads identification and prioritization of risk reduction opportunities, establishes clear priorities and supports effective resourcing to drive improvement at the site. (SHE/PSM, Site security)
Leads relationship with local authorities including safety, food safety, health regulatory agency, customs, police.
Ensures follow up and consistency of food safety plan (HACCP, pre-requisites)
Maintains positive community relations through active participation in local organizations
Accountable for leading and managing the site’s Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, Quality and Food Safety Management Systems (ISO14001; OHSAS 18001, ISO9001, BRC, pharma agreements et FDA requirements.
Operations Strategy & Planning
Communication of business objectives, priorities and progress across the site
Communication within DuPont off-site and above site
Develops, implements and renews a 3-5-year site strategic plan, including a clear site vision, which supports the business and corporate strategy.
Leads site staff team in identifying Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and aligning action plans with business strategy and anticipating future needs
Responsible for management of onsite multi- service level agreements on the industrial platform shared with Solvay
Accountable for advancing Lean (DPS) culture of continuous improvement (visual management, people, environment, site vision, M&B, empowerment, accountability, visual controls, performance dialog, structured problem solving, LSW…).
Accountable for meeting business objectives for production, cost, delivery and quality
Responsible for site’s infrastructure capabilities, improvement and resource plans via evergreen 5-year plan.
Utilizes performance tracking metrics to drive execution
Manage social relation with Unions on site (several unions on site including global legal entity representatives)
Negotiate local collective agreements with UnionsLead legal monthly meetings with employee representative organisations (Comité d’entreprise, délégué du personnel, CHSCT)
Ensure and preserve a trustful and good social climate
Morale, Talent Management & Capability Building
Develops people at the site (feedback, coaching, mentoring, delegation, difficult conversations, capability building)
Encourages employee’s engagement and fosters empowerment and ownership through leader standard work practices
Establishes and ensures the effectiveness of two-way communication processes across the site.
Manages staffing strategy (core/ variable, overtime management and labor planning)
Provides strategy and ensures effectiveness of the reward and recognition system across the plant
Strategically guides employee and labor relations including working with site’s third party representation
Utilizes talent management processes and systems (succession planning, top talent, Individual Performance Plan)
Must haveeither Plant Manager I or Unit Manager experience.
Manufacturing experience whichincludes exposure to SHE, Quality, Food safety, Maintenance and ContinuousImprovement systems and tools.
PSM high hazard experience preferred.
Food Safety/Quality experiencepreferred
Experience supervising people.

In order to be qualified for this role, candidate must possess the following:
M.Sc. degree in chemical or/and biochemical engineering or science with experience in either industrial biochemistry (fermentation and recovery), pharma or food additives.
