Pos ition Summary
Reporting to the Talent COE Leader, the Global Learning Leader has full responsibility for developing the enterprise learning strategy and workforce development programs consistent with learning and leadership theories infusing the latest research in learning science and application. This position consults with domestic and global business HR Leaders and Talent Managers, senior leadership, and external learning industry partners to create and implement solutions that drive employee productivity, performance and professional development. This position is also responsible for developing learning based outcomes that deliver value and enable the business to achieve superior business results.
Provides professional expertise and leadership in initiating design, development, employee engagement, and learning and development methodologies aimed at developing the "whole person" inclusive of delivery strategies that foster teamwork and collaboration. Lead the planning, design, implementation, communication and delivery of enterprise-level programs for the global workforce while establishing governance and integrating with the Business Units/Functions to deliver business/function specific learning services to the employees across the globe.
Serve as a key member of the Talent COE, as a valuable business partner and advisor.
Create and maintain an enterprise learning philosophy, and strategy consistent with business objectives.
Provide strategic direction, vision, motivation, and leadership to the Learning COE, Talent Management, HR Function and operating team.
Assess and recommend technology based learning platform(s) covering the full spectrum of adult learning, social media, and informal learning approaches.
Work across the company with Business Talent Managers to develop an understanding of global operations, business priorities, culture, and values in order to represent and influence learning and development (L&D) programs, and HR policies and procedures.
Oversees the design, sourcing, implementation, and consumption of highly-effective, results driven L&D strategies that enhance organizational and individual performance.
Strategically align learning and development programs (including competency modeling) with the organization’s objectives and employees’ personal/professional goals and business needs.
Work in partnership with HR leadership, Business Talent Managers, Talent Management, and the Learning CoE to identify critical organization needs to address and prepare for future business requirements.
Establish, lead, and oversee an enterprise learning governance to manage learning as a strategic business process, to ensure learning effectiveness, and development of future workforce development programs.
Oversee the orientation and onboarding strategies to ensure appropriate readiness programs are developed, deployed, and effective.
Apply business knowledge and industry best practices to L&D strategies.
Develop and approve business plans and budgets for all learning and development objectives.
Direct the development of traditional and non-traditional workforce development and education programs through partnership development with community-based organizations, colleges, and universities.
Work across the enterprise to increase the working knowledge of global operations, business priorities, culture and values in order to represent and influence HR policies, procedures, and employee development objectives.
As a key member of the Talent COE, the Global Learning Leader will have at least 10 years of combined learning/development and HR functional with multiple years serving in a leadership role with top executive interaction. Experience with multi-nationals required. Specifically, this executive will have:
Demonstrated experience and a record of success.
Experience in manufacturing or other highly regulated industries is a plus.
A track record of partnering effectively with, and serving as a strategic partner to, all levels and functions of a large, sophisticated global company, including the CHRO, CEO, and Operating Team levels.
Proven track record in developing innovative approaches and solutions to meet business challenges as an effective leader of change initiatives that simplify and standardize learning curriculum, processes, and tools.
Strategic thinking and decision-making skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused mindset are essential.
A track record of attracting and developing strong teams and building trust and rapport quickly. Ability to articulate vision and direction, communicate effectively, build sustainable relationships at all levels of the organization, and manage and measure team performance and accountability.
Demonstrated ability to think and act globally, work collaboratively at all levels, and make decisions rapidly.
Strong analytic and strategic problem-solving skills.
Results-oriented, focused, and able to balance multiple priorities simultaneously.
Master’s degree required and a doctoral degree in Education, Organization Development, and/or Industrial Psychology in related field is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge with learning software, applications, learning methodologies, competency modeling, and instructional design models required.
