The DuPont Yerkes site located in Buffalo, New York employs approximately 540 DuPont employees and another 40-60 contractors. Comprised of two business units, Yerkes includes Corian® (Sheetlines 1 & 2 plus Shape), Tedlar® (Polymer, Mix/Casting, SP, Treating/Finishing), and Power Generation (water/steam/compressed air).
The units work independently to produce materials that are used in a variety of products including: countertops, building panels, wall covering, solar cells, and surface finishes for airplanes, cars, buses, and trains – to name a few.

Primary Function :
The primary role of the Process Maintenance Planner is to improve the work force productivity and work quality through the coordination of labor, parts, material, tools and equipment with permissions, specialized documentation and equipment access as well as anticipation and elimination of potential delays through planning and troubleshooting.
General description :
The Process Maintenance Planner will be responsible for ensuring safety needs are given a top priority in work planning and scheduling. The work of this position consists of maintenance planning which will drive the work management process. The planner will need to take the lead to facilitate cross-functional teams to create detailed job plans in order to repair short term and long term equipment issues. It will be necessary to interface with vendors to obtain parts and improve planning processes.
The Process Maintenance Planner must analyze maintenance and construction jobs and determine the best methods, tools, and materials needed to perform the jobs safely and efficiently. They must be able to create detailed job plans. They must be able to use the plant maintenance management system to develop the job plan and use it to order parts. The planner must be familiar with the status of jobs, and ordered materials.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
This position is responsible for the planning of daily routine, periodic and annual shutdown work orders for millwright maintenance employees. Process Maintenance Planners are expected to assist in planning for all departments as required.
Specific responsibilities of the planner are:
Conduct field walk downs to scope out all components necessary for planning maintenance work
Write applicable maintenance procedures that promote defect-free maintenance work quality.
Order all parts and material for jobs when needed
Keep equipment files up to date
Verify that parts are correct when delivered
Accept and utilize constructive feedback to improve job plans
Communications with craftspeople, contractor representatives and materials suppliers.
Maintenance plans will be developed including safe work execution
Oversee repairable equipment for refurbishment
The planner must interface closely with maintenance supervision, production supervision, engineers and vendors.
- A minimum of 2 year Mechanical Technology certificate and industrial experience is preferred.
Must have a working knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office Suite, and SAP is a plus.
Previous satisfactory experience of at least two years in a maintenance engineering support function with responsibilities of short term and long term process reliability improvement.
Ability to read and understand plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirement and sequence of repairs and/or installations.
Demonstrated ability to provide assistance in training, updating engineering drawings and establishment of records.
Previous experience in computer based Maintenance Support systems
Demonstrated ability to use good communication skills and ability to interact effectively with others to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
