Business Development Manager – Nomex® Thermal Apparel (Job Number: 193516W-01)
DuPont Safety & Construction is seeking a Business Development Manager to grow Nomex® sales in the Thermal Industrial Market Segment. This role is the primary customer interface responsible for the marketing/sales cycle from opportunity identification through closure. The position manages all aspects of the selling process, and administers programs to meet sales and profit goals for the territory. Key industry segments include oil and gas, public utilities, station wear, and lab coats. The focus will be on end users and distributors to discover opportunities, promote Thermal Industrial products, and connect both stakeholders to ensure pull through of DuPont products. Selling role is highly consultative.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Work with the Nomex® value chain and execute the Thermal Industrial value proposition to sell and maximize business results, brand awareness, and grow revenues in the various market segments
Create and execute the strategic selling plan for the territory to meet business growth goals
Create and execute detailed Account Strategies to develop a pipeline of targeted accounts to: gain access, translate needs to solutions, build relationships, promote Thermal Apparel products to secure the customer in the buy cycle to maximize business opportunities and revenues.
Build credibility and respect while working with the customers such as Safety Manager in a way that develops pull through for Thermal Apparel solutions with the distributor
Collaborate on sales proposals and respond to RFP’s and tenders
Actively leverage and communicate across the Thermal Apparel team, marketing and others (Technical Sales Support, Product Development).
Utilize Salesforce.com to update accounts, contacts, opportunity pipeline and utilize High Spot as appropriate.
Establish relationships with key distributors and garment manufacturers in the Southwest and develop market for distributors
Train value chain partners on products, gage volume and reporting to monitor their pull through activities
Embrace the Challenger selling approach via skill development, execution and use of established Challenger infrastructure within S&C.
Results orientation: 5+ years of sales or business development experience

This position reports to the North America Sales Manager, and should be located in Southern California or Phoenix area. Territory includes West Texas, Southern California, Arizona, and New Mexico. This role is expected to travel at least 30% through-out the Southwest.
