The Electrical Engineer is a key part of the team responsible for maintenance and reliability of our Cedar Rapids, Iowa production facility. In this highly visible role, the Electrical Engineer leads the electrical maintenance sub-team and coordinates safe, quality completion of all electrical work onsite. This position reports directly to the site Maintenance Manager.

Weare looking for an exceptional individual to be responsible for the followingtasks:

  • Lead site ElectricalSafety Program; this includes maintaining site arc flash study, providingtechnical guidance on electrical safe work practices, and training personnel onelectrical safety.

  • Develop andadminister site electrical practices, procedures, and preventative maintenanceand reliability programs.

  • Givetechnical guidance on electrical design and installation for maintenance andcapital projects.

  • Providetroubleshooting expertise for electrical maintenance issues.

  • Identifyand develop electrical energy savings projects.

  • Collaboratewith other internal and external electrical engineers and subject matterexperts.

  • Maintain technicalexpertise in the field through continuing education and professionaldevelopment opportunities.



  • Bachelor ofScience degree in Electrical Engineering. 1-3yrs demonstrated experience in high/mediumpower distribution system design, engineering, and maintenance.

  • Three yearsof demonstrated ability to work safely and effectively in an industrial ormanufacturing environment.

  • Knowledgeof electrical principles, technologies, codes, and standards.

  • Demonstratedability to design and troubleshoot high/medium voltage electrical distribution systems,including experience with electrical distribution equipment such as 12.5kV switchgear,distribution transformers, protective relays, motor control centers, motors, adjustablespeed drives, and industrial lighting.

  • Experiencewith power quality management and 480/4160V equipment energy optimization.

  • Ability toevaluate existing electrical equipment and utilize engineering design processesto improve their efficiency, optimization and reliability.

  • Demonstratedability to develop long term strategic programs/projects as well as address shortterm operational issues.

  • Excellentcommunications and interpersonal skills to develop effective relationships withinternal and external resources.

  • Ability towork in a team environment with people at varying job levels.

  • Ability toplan and coordinate E&I field activities to troubleshoot and correct issues.
