Logistics Buyer (Job Number: BUY00001017)
The position is responsible for supporting DuPont Business Units in Eastern Europe with the procurement of high quality, timely, safe, and cost-effective logistics products and services for the international and domestic distribution of various commodities.
Develops and implements strategies to procure services across all modes of warehousing and transportation.
Drives efforts on process improvements that serve to deliver safety, reliability and service delivery levels in all business units for DuPont.
Procures logistics services for domestic and international distribution of DuPont products in Eastern Europe: freight forwarders, carriers, warehouses and 3PL/4PL providers.
Interface between business supply chains and the 3PLs to develop an aligned effort, and participates in local and regional projects.
Provides operational support services in international and domestic freight and/or warehousing including logistics studies.
Improves the services to the businesses and lowers total cost of ownership.
Represents Eastern Europe in the regional (EMEA) and global modal teams, and ensures that all the critical needs to quality of the internal customers are met.
Develops a permanent understanding of the market, and is acquainted with new technologies and trends applicable to the logistics services industry.
Understands and stays up to date about local and international legislation and regulations related to cross border logistics and foreign trade, anticipates market trends and gives directions to the stakeholders (modal teams, internal customers and management).
Participates in regional and global tenders and leads tenders in Eastern Europe.
Incorporates the performance levels of the suppliers in the final negotiations and works closely together with contract administrators and Supplier Relationship Management Team.
Participates in the suppliers' evaluations and performance management in Eastern Europe; coordinates the contract negotiations.
Maintains all product & service rates and contracts in the appropriated logistics systems / databases.
Translates the requests from the supply chain team within the local and regional networks & towards the suppliers.
Translates the offer from the suppliers towards the internal customers.
Regularly meets with suppliers to ensure company's needs are met and/or to anticipate opportunities for optimization & cost reductions.
Supports the implementation of information systems to control logistics services and all related costs.
Creates cost metrics.
Permanently works with the business supply chain organizations to understand their present and future critical to quality needs, identifies opportunities for improvement, and develops and implements new supply strategies. Permanently looks for opportunities of leveraging business needs and market solutions.
BA/BS degree with preferred focus in Business or Logistics, and/or equivalent work experience.
Strong communication and negotiation strategy and skills.
Strong knowledge & capability in logistics and supply chain (domestic & international), with minimum 5 years of experience.
Strong affinity with regulatory & compliance reference texts.
Project management skills.
Resistance to stress, respectful & ethical behavior in any condition, straight forward & consistent in negotiations with large international companies in a quickly changing market.
Effective management style with the logistic services providers.
Ability to lead by influence and to be a team player.
Motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills, attention to detail and a positive attitude.
Balanced technical and commercial profile.
IT skills: proficient user for Office 365 tools is mandatory, SAP will be and asset.
Language skills: Russian and English (more languages will be an asset).
Travel availability: 10-20% (approx.)
