Position: Global Licensing Manager

Job Description: The Global Licensing Manager takes direction from the Global Business Manager, Acid Technologies and is responsible for managing MECS’ process technology licensing business. The manager is accountable for maximizing the total revenue across all MECS offerings from each project opportunity. The manager sets strategic direction, manages key alliances, positions existing products and technologies, and develops the strategy and business case for new product offerings. The manager supports regional sales organizations with opportunity identification, strategy development, and capture (including contract negotiation) while effectively prioritizing requests to optimize business results. Exceptional business and financial acumen, commercial skills, and technical understanding of MECS technologies and products are essential to long term success in the role.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Deliver signings and total project revenuesassociated with process technology licensing including engineering and productsales

  2. Provide strategic and commercial support toregional sales organizations

  3. Workcollaboratively with regional sales organizations to set strategy for eachtechnology licensing opportunity

  4. Provide commercialdecision support both remotely and face to face as needed during contractnegotiations

  5. Managetechnical, commercial, and reputational risk

  6. Serve aspoint of communication between regional sales and the home office

  7. Set growth strategy for MECS’ process technologylicensing business

  8. Develop opportunitiesand offerings that leverage critical capabilities and unique competitiveadvantages

  9. Conductmarket research and provide analysis on macro and micro market trends

  10. Identifyopportunities and threats and make actionable recommendations

  11. Develop and manage sales channel strategies

  12. Develop and manage key external relationshipsand partnerships

  13. Prioritize and forecast the project pipeline

  14. Coordinate internal resources and stakeholders


Basic Requirements

  1. A four-yeardegree in Chemical or Mechanical engineering is required, an MBA is strongly preferred

  2. Experiencein licensing of chemical, petrochemical, or petroleum refining technologies.

  3. Experiencewith international business development and sales strategies for large capitalprojects with a proven track record in generating,developing and negotiating complex deals in different environments andgeographies

  4. Deepunderstanding of commercial contracts and risk management

  5. Timemanagement and task prioritization required to simultaneously process numerous projectsat various stages of proposal and order activity

  6. Experiencewith strategic analysis of competitor interactions

  7. Ability todevelop alliances through influence of internal and external stakeholders

  8. Willingnessto travel internationally up to 50% of the time
