Our unique production location offers the opportunity to impact our business and customers by producing premium products of alfalfa, corn, soybeans, wheat and silage inoculants. As a Production Technician, you will be responsible for setting up and monitoring highly automated equipment for various processes such as harvest, conditioning, treating, packing and warehousing. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Communicating and contributingto our team in a positive manner that reflects our company values

  • Learning and performing fieldmanagement activities such as pest scouting, purity inspections and makingcrop management recommendations

  • Forklift operation, qualitydata entry, safety program ownership and making work instructionenhancement recommendations

  • Gathering data andparticipating in continuous improvement projects

  • Learning and performingpreventative maintenance on production equipment

  • Following safety procedures,quality plans and notifying supervisors of any non-conformances

  • Assisting our team withon-boarding of new employees and providing oversight to contractors asneeded

  • Various other duties asassigned by supervisor

Qualifications

The following are required:

  • High School diploma OR GEDequivalent

  • One year of manufacturing,production operations, warehousing or agricultural related experience ORan Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Work in a variety of areas suchas in the fields, at the production plant or at an offsite location

  • Climb and/or work in elevatedareas as needed; standing and sitting for extended periods as needed

  • Work both indoors and outdoorsduring hot, cold, wet or dry conditions

  • Lift up to 60 pounds andcomplete work that involves repetitive motion and/or repetitive lifting asneeded

  • Work shiftwork during fall andwinter months

  • Work overtime hours includingweekends during seasonal peaks

  • Proactive in communicatingideas, concerns and best practices

  • Mastering changes that willimprove overall team performance and/or process effectiveness

  • Attention to detail and problemsolving skills

  • Time management skillsincluding proactive work ethic and utilizing a sense of urgency

  • Work independently or with ateam, multitask and maintain an organized workplace

  • Computer aptitude including useof Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word as well as iPads and mobile devices

  • Understanding that weather canimpact our planning efforts and that we must adapt to meet the needs ofour customers

The following are preferred:

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturingprinciples such as 5S, Continuous Improvement and Standardized Work are aplus

  • Knowledge of productionagriculture and production plant operations desired

  • Knowledge of field equipmentdesired

  • SAP or similar EnterpriseResource Planning software experience to manage data processing

  • Possession or ability to obtaina Commercial Driver’s License and/or Commercial Pesticide ApplicatorsLicense
