Job Description:

The Specialty Products Division NA MIQA Hub Leveraged Site Inspector supports sites regionally in the area of process equipment inspection and maintenance, including repairs and changes as needed. This role will be leveraged across multiple sites to support inspection and repair work in particular as it is related to mechanical integrity and quality assurance (MIQA) and is aligned with the corporate PSM, R&M, and sourcing objectives and standard practices.

Job Scope: Assist sites by:

  • Participatingin development of inspection and test plans for plant equipment.

  • Inspecting/examining equipment per applicable RAGAGEPs,documenting and transmitting inspection results, and making recommendations asappropriate for repair/upgrade/retirement of equipment.

  • Managing inspection data in systems such as Ultrapipe®and Meridium®.

  • Defining and approving repairs to in service equipment,per RAGAGEPs. This may include auditingand evaluation of contracted repair organizations, and inspection of repairwork.

  • Participating in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) andincident investigations related to equipment failures.

  • Directing and coordinating the work of contractinspectors/examiners as needed, including auditing and evaluation.

  • Where applicable, working with jurisdictional inspectorsto ensure local requirements are met.

  • Managing inspection and repair documentation, potentiallyincluding NDE procedures, welding procedures, inspection plans


Minimum Job Requirements:

This individual must have a good working knowledge of equipment inspection systems and practices, including data management. This person must have the organizational capability to work in multiple sites, prioritize activities, and be able to communicate effectively with operators, mechanics, engineers, and leadership. They must maintain connections with internal networks and external organizations to maintain up to date knowledge in the inspection field. In addition:

  • 5+ years or more of work experience in thefabrication, inspection, and/or repair of petrochemical plant equipment

  • API 510, 570 and 653 certifications required

  • ASNT level II certifications in VT, UT, PT, MT,RT (film)

  • Knowledge of applicable RAGAGEPs including ASME,API, ASTM

  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM)

  • Working knowledge of inspection and equipmentmanagement software such as SAP, Meridium, and Ultrapipe®

  • Working knowledge of welding, fabrication/repairtechniques, and corrosion mechanisms

  • Working knowledge of standard Microsoft Officesoftware

  • Certified Welding Inspector desired but notrequired

Additional Job Information:

  • Substantial travel involved, usually 2 to 3 days at a time andsometimes on short notice.

  • Position may be located in Wilmington, DE; Houston, TX; or otherNorth America locations with access to air travel.
