Plant Manager Smirice (Job Number: PLA00001062)
Willmanage the overall operation and all aspects of a medium size manufacturingfacility (+/-110 employees), with food safety manufacturing units includingproduction, maintenance, technology, and other manufacturing units/functions.
Isresponsible for environmental, safety, food quality/safety, security, qualitycontrol, local warehousing and shipping.
Ensurescontinuous and efficient production in desired quantity, food quality, andproduct quality, cost effective maintenance, and appropriate technologysupport.
Setsexpectations and work environment standards necessary for successful operation.
Ensuresappropriate personnel planning, staffing, and performance management.
Ensurescompliance with policies, procedures, safety and food safety standards andcountry regulation, authorizations and permits.
Interactswith the community to maintain right to operate. Deal with employeerepresentatives and unions.
This position will report to a N&H Manufacturing and Supply Chain Leader.
The responsibilities for the Plant Manager position will include but are not limited to:
Safety, Health, Environmental, Food Qualityand Safety & Core Values
Establishesmanaging processes for advancing and ensuring consistency of Core Values(SHE/PSM, Ethics & Respect for People) across the site.
Ensuresregulatory compliance across all core values including food safety.
Leadsidentification and prioritization of risk reduction opportunities, establishesclear priorities and supports effective resourcing to drive improvement at thesite. (SHE/PSM, Site security)
Leadsrelationship with local authorities including safety, food safety, healthregulatory agency, customs, police.
Ensuresfollow up and consistency of food safety plan (HACCP, pre-requisites)
Maintainspositive community relations through active participation in localorganizations
Accountablefor leading and managing the site’s Environmental, Occupational Health andSafety, Quality and Food Safety Management Systems (ISO9001:2008,FSSC 22000)requirements.
Leadership and Management
Provideleadership that gives clear, consistent mission and direction in alignment withbusiness strategy and priorities.
Establishand communicate clearly defined objectives.
Identify,measure, track and ensure achievement of critical success factors.
Leadand drive cultural change and continuous improvement.
Coordinateproduction, maintenance, distribution, warehousing, and cost improvementinitiatives in accordance with corporate guidelines.

Overseeproduction costs and product quality, and modifies production and inventory controlprograms to maintain and enhance profitable operation of business.
Developgood working relations with local unions to achieve plant goals
Operations Strategy & Planning
Communicationof business objectives, priorities and progress across the site
Communicationwithin DuPont off-site and above site
Develops,implements and renews a 3-5-year site strategic plan, including a clear sitevision, which supports the business and corporate strategy.
Leadssite staff team in identifying Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and aligningaction plans with business strategy and anticipating future needs.
Accountablefor advancing Lean (DPS) culture of continuous improvement (visual management,people, environment, site vision, M&B, empowerment, accountability, visualcontrols, performance dialog, structured problem solving, LSW…).
Responsiblefor site’s infrastructure capabilities, improvement and resource plans viaevergreen 5-year plan.
Utilizesperformance tracking metrics to drive execution.
Establishand maintain good working relationships with local community, civicgroups,other businesses andmanufacturing operations within the industrial community, and political andlegislative representatives.
Maintainclose liaison with first responders and regulatory agencies to ensure thatcompany meets it's obligations as a corporate citizen in the community.

M.Sc.degree in chemical or/and biochemical engineering or science with experience ineither industrial biochemistry, pharma or food additives; or a Bachelor’sDegree in chemical or/and biochemical engineering with 6 – 10 years relatedexperience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education andexperience.
Manufacturingexperience which includes exposure to SHE, Quality, Food Safety, Maintenanceand Continuous Improvement systems and tools.
Experiencein supervising people.
