Corteva Agriscience™, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont™ is recruiting for a Database Management Service Delivery Leader role in Johnston, Iowa.

Reporting to the Global Infrastructure Solution & Service Delivery Leader, the Database Solution & Service Delivery Leader is a dynamic technology professional who will work closely with the IT leadership, internal teams, business/functions and our vendors to manage the database portfolio for the Corteva Agriscience™ division. S/He will have responsibility for managing internal employees, IT service providers, and third party contractors responsible for day-to-day operations as well as project delivery for the database portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Engage, execute and deploy database portfolio related transformation projects

  • Establish operational model for support of the database portfolio

  • Provide leadership, coaching and direction to a team of highly skilled global workforce. In addition, hire and train staff, both employees and contingent workers globally

  • The DBA Lead is responsible for establishing and managing the daily and long-term strategic management of DB related tasks e.g. DB maintenance, monitoring, performance mgmt, backups, recovery etc.

  • The DBA Lead is expected to understand, manage & report SOX compliance rules and follow ‘Segregation of Duties’ (SoD) for the Compliance and Quality during audits

  • Incorporate operational excellence standards into daily operations to continually improve performance & availability

  • Responsible for communications and interfacing with internal and external stakeholders impacted, or potentially impacted, by service disruption, additions, changes, and/or reductions in service

  • Partner with IT stakeholders, end-to-end service integration team and external vendors, as needed, to plan and drive implementation of changes impacting the portfolio including deployment of new tools, functionalities, etc.

  • Validate and ensure all software components have sufficient license entitlements and maintenance contracts in place, as required for the databases

  • The DBA Lead is expected to create and maintain the Business Continuity Plan as per organization needs.

  • Assist the Application development team as and when needed to make sure the application runs with maximum efficiency

  • Preparing customized reports that gives 360 degree view of all the DBA related tasks

  • Should have strong working knowledge on SQL and Oracle

  • Stay abreast with the changing technologies and business trends to enhance overall effectiveness

  • Identify and implement service improvements and process improvements

  • Responsible for application lifecycle management in collaboration with the Enterprise architects for large upgrades, App decommissioning etc.

Accountabilities

  • Service level targets (e.g., availability, performance) established, met and/or exceeded for the Database portfolio

  • Timely investigation and resolution of database issues through coordination with User Support teams

  • On schedule and on-budget delivery of various projects in the database space

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10+ yearsof experience in large scale database managementPreferred Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology,engineering or related field

  • Preferred certifications: SQL Certified, Oracle Certified

  • Strong Knowledge for database platforms – bothapplications as well as infrastructure

Technical Competencies

  • Extensive knowledge of the database portfolioencompassing various productivity tools, platforms & technologies like Oracle,SQL Server, DB2, Partitioning, Replication, Data Modelling, etc.

  • Ability learn and upskill on new technologies, processesand applications

  • Experience working with vendors, product roadmaps andsupport lifecycles

  • Understanding of ITIL processes
