We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Services and Solution Delivery Leader to join our team in Johnston, Iowa. In this role you will lead a global team of people located in Johnston, IA, Delaware, WI, and India. You will provide leadership, vision, and direction for the IT Infrastructure organization of the Corteva Agriscience™ Division. You will report to the Global IT Operations & Support Leader and will be responsible for managing internal employees, IT service providers, and third party contractors. You will also be responsible for day-to-day operations and global projects for the infrastructure portfolio comprising of: Compute i.e. Servers & Storage; Cloud Computing; Telecom/Networks; End User Technology; Collaboration Tools; Databases, Etc.

Given the remit of the role & the organization, you should have deep technical ‘hands-on’ infrastructure knowledge, strong project and vendor management skills, and a customer-focused approach to end-user support. This senior position will evaluate, design, plan and manage technology projects that support the company’s objectives of becoming a digital organization. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, highly matrix, global environment. This leader must be comfortable working with ambiguity, have a proven track record of hiring, developing and growing talent globally, should possess a strong leadership presence, and should demonstrate outstanding communication skills.

You should be an expert at building relationships with IT leaders, service providers and business executives and bring a relentless focus on operational excellence in all its forms for the infrastructure portfolio using a leadership approach that is innovative, technology driven and metrics-based . The ideal candidate should have 15+ years of experience in a combination of information technology in IT consulting/services and End user organizations, including a minimum of five years in a leadership role at a comparable industrial organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, coaching and direction to a team of highly skilled global workforce. In addition hire and train staff, both employees and contingent workers globally

  • Lead the transformation of the Infrastructure portfolio with particular focus on agile service management, 24X7 availability, business continuity improved end user experience and cost effectiveness

  • Review and develop long-term infrastructure strategy, architecture and delivery processes and drive adoption of new technologies and solutions

  • Establish and manage a global Managed Services model for infrastructure services . Manage infrastructure with a service provider mindset to ensure high service levels to business users for connectivity and computing resources

  • Lead the design, implementation, management and support of critical network and telecommunications infrastructure enabling a more digital and collaborative work environment

  • Lead and drive sustainable operations in all Compute environments (Datacenter operations, Disaster recovery, Server and Storage Management in Wintel, Linux and AIX environments and Cloud Orchestration/Cloud Engineering)

  • Incorporate operational excellence standards into daily operations to continually improve performance

  • Establish and drive a strong collaborative and customer service mindset

  • Maintain high levels of availability, performance, and scalability of infrastructure operations and hardware.

  • Establish, maintain, and regularly test robust disaster recovery / business continuity plans and processes

  • Identify technology solutions to improve security, scalability, and reliability of the overall computing environment

  • Establish strong connections between the respective teams within IT. S/He should have a deep understanding of the interdependent relationship between infrastructure, information security and the applications/services

  • Lead cross functional project teams in implementing projects of a complex nature

  • Effectively manage external service providers and IT services agreements

  • Ensure personnel and infrastructure are in compliance with external FDA & SOX regulations. Participate in audits as required


The following are required:

  • Formal education in a related field of study (Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Engineering)

  • Experience working in the IT Services industry or a similar role in another organization

  • Hands-on experience and technical expertise in two or more of the following areas: Networks, telecommunications, client/server computing, end user computing, collaboration, databases etc

  • Experience in implementing ITIL framework based processes for IT Infrastructure operations

  • Strong people leadership skills with the ability to lead, manage and mentor teams; able to work effectively in large diverse multi-cultural global work teams

  • Experience in leading large global infrastructure projects in one or more IT Infrastructure areas

The following are preferred:

  • Demonstrated critical thinking and planning at a strategic, global level. Ability to translate strategic plans into specific objectives, and to create and execute project plans to achieve objectives

  • ITIL Certified

  • SOX experience and Six Sigma certification will be added advantages

  • PMP, MCSE and other technical certifications are a plus
