Description

This position is responsible for the administration and maintenance of specific issues in pay and time impacting transactions into payroll systems (ADP GlobalView & SAP) and time systems (ADP eTime & SAP) within the Payroll Dept. This role is also responsible for applying knowledge of local regulations, laws, and legal standards and services. The position works in tandem with the HR Service Center to ensure payroll is processed appropriately for the organization. May also analyze and administer HR service delivery programs in areas such as case management, data and reporting, compliance, vendor integration and transactional services for employees, managers, former employees, term-vested employees, candidates and retiree populations. Investigates and resolves daily employee payroll service problems. May advise organizational personnel on payroll practices and procedures. Maintains payroll related data and provides reports as needed.

Job Responsibilities

  • Correct overpayments and under payments

  • Process on-cycle and off-cycle payroll for various pay frequencies

  • Manages any offsets from worker’s compensation

  • Handles paycheck questions and distribution rejections

  • Manages or provides oversight of unemployment claims, garnishments and year end process

  • Handles the employment verification process

  • Manages payroll processing for foreign affiliates

  • May assist with tax reporting and the set-up and close-out of tax jurisdictions

  • Execution of standard audit check and reconciliations

  • Ensure payroll processes are executed in a compliant manner

  • Operates in a service center model logging and maintaining cases

Qualifications

Education

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of three to five (3-5) years of HR or payroll administration experience

  • Experience in using / managing one or more of the following systems is strongly preferred:

  • SAP Payroll

  • ADP GlobalView

  • ADP eTime

  • SalesForce.com

  • Working knowledge of end-to-end payroll procedures and other pay-impacting processes such as GL reconciliation is strongly preferred

  • Working knowledge of HR policies, practices, and procedures is preferred

  • Strong knowledge of Human Resources regulatory and statutory requirements desirable

  • Ability to support the Payroll Analyst regarding routine edits, entries and other tasks

  • Able to work with confidential information with a high degree of accuracy, often in time-critical situations

  • Effective communication skills to work with all levels of employees to explain programs and resolve problems

  • Knowledge of or experience in call center or shared services environment desirable

  • Experience working with third party vendors / outsourcers desirable

  • Experience partnering with business and function resources as well as working with HR information systems / technology applications desirable
