This position is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation and evaluation of seed samples for quality testing while demonstrating thorough knowledge of seed sampling practices.
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to the following:
Assure compliance. Makesrecommendations to management based on this information.
Ensures quality system management
Reviews data and monitors compliancewith customer specifications.
Train employees in processes andprocedures to ensure excellence in the lab
Perform quality testing proceduresin accordance with ISTA, AOSA, and AASCO sampling guidelines, and assesstesting requirements according to established guidelines.
Verify and record quality testresults with consistent attention to detail.
Perform all duties with a high levelof accuracy in order to maintain the integrity of quality results.
Assist in monitoring the properfunctioning and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Maintain a clean, healthy and safeworking environment in compliance with Safety and Health guidelines andhousekeeping practices.
Train on cross-functional tasks inother functions of the laboratory on processes that may need additional supportduring high volume or critical periods.
Monitor product for qualityassurance and ensure activities meet the requirements of the Quality Plan.
Actively seek to reduce redundantand unnecessary testing.
Recommend and implement measures toimprove productivity, performance, methods, troubleshoot issues, and identifyquality defects.
Develop and maintain goodcommunication and rapport with site personnel and employees from other Pioneerdepartments.
Willing and able to acquire a RegisteredSeed Technologist (RST) certificate (if the incumbent does not already possessone)
The following are required:
High School Diploma or GED
3+ years of work and/or schoolexperience in an agriculture or biological or related field
Detail oriented with a history oftransactional excellence and accuracy
Strong PC skills and ability tolearn new programs quickly. Ensure the quality management of different systems
Strong Microsoft Office skill level
Willingness and ability to work withrepetitive tasks and motions while maintaining high attention to detail
Willingness and ability to workovertime and weekends when necessary
Willingness and ability to lift upto 50 lbs.
The following are preferred:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree inAgriculture, Agribusiness, Biology, or related field
Previous experience in a productionoperation environment
Previous experience in leading agroup or team
A Registered Seed Technologist (RST)certificate
