Job title: Scientist – Analytical development

Reports to: Analytical leader, India Business unit: DuPont N&H Department: India Pharma Lab Min Educational Qualifications: M. Pharm/M.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry Minimum Years of Experience: 4-7 Years with M. Pharm/M.Sc

Grade: 2 Location: Bangalore, India

I. Indicative Tasks and Duties/Major Responsibility area:

  1. Support analytical needs of pharmaceutical business by providing service to both in house product development and customer/partner driven projects

  2. Provide support in Method development and validation for Excipients and finished dosage forms (tablets, suspensions, etc.)

  3. Routine analysis of excipients as per the monographs or specification

  4. Routine analysis of different finished dosage forms such as solids and liquids using Dissolution apparatus, HPLC, GC, etc.

  5. Operation and calibration of laboratory equipment’s like HPLC, GC, Dissolution tester, weighing balance, pH meter, pipettes, etc.

  6. Stability studies of solid and liquid dosage forms.

  7. Preparation, review of Standard testing procedures for different instruments/equipment’s and different processes

  8. Preparation, review of analytical protocols and reports

  9. Use knowledge and expertise to interpret and document the experimental data

  10. Follow GLP practices and maintain documentation of the records as per the SOPs

  11. Follow the in-house safety procedures

  12. Undergo trainings as and when required

II. Technical Knowledge/ Skills Requirement/ Experience Acquired.

  1. Previous experience in a pharmaceutical company in the area of analytical support to oral dose form development, raw materials

  2. Practical knowledge of pharmaceutical development processes and dose forms preferable

  3. Well versed with ICH, OECD GLP and all regulatory guidelines for analytical method development and their validation.

  4. Trouble shooting and solving analytical related problems.

  5. Hands-on experience of equipment’s like High Pressure Liquid Chromatography, Gas Chromatography, Dissolution Apparatus, UV, DSC, Rheometer, Particle Size Analyzer, etc.

  6. Excellent skills in collection of data and documenting the observations in the laboratory notebooks
