DuPont Industrial Biosciences, is looking for a Technical Service & Development Specialist (m/f) to support current customers and future growth for the Microbial Control business in Europe. The position is located at the European headquarter of Industrial Biosciences in Leiden, The Netherlands.

The Microbial Control business is a global leader in supplying solutions that address microbial problems, based on science, technology and regulatory excellence. Microbial Control serves a wide variety of industries, e.g. home & personal care, oil & gas, water, paints & coatings, and about ten other markets. Microbial Control provides world class products and technical service, solving essential microbial challenges such as in-can preservation, dry-film protection, microbially induced corrosion, and reservoir souring.

Technical Service & Development Specialist

We are looking for an energetic Technical Service & Development Specialist for biocide applications to join our European Customer Application Center for Microbial Control.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Developing a deep understanding of microbiological control problems in industrial applications, with a focus on identifying opportunities for industrial microbial control technologies in industrial settings

  • Supporting our customers with world class technical service by providing technical advice, sponsoring microbiological and analytical laboratory evaluations and executing field tests

  • Collaborating and involving internal and external regulatory and research & development stakeholders as appropriate

  • Developing new methods or employing existing methods to design experiments, analyze data, making recommendations and document in customer reports

  • Accelerating growth of Microbial Control's portfolio through customer-centric innovation and selling projects: Working closely with commercial counterparts (sales and marketing) in understanding markets / customer requirements, exploring opportunities and developing new business

  • Determination of technological needs and/or opportunities for the application of microbial control technologies in industrial applications

  • Cooperating closely with production, quality and supply chain as well as regulatory stakeholders in driving business growth

  • Field implementation of product launches and new applications, including close interaction with customers

  • Developing value propositions for microbial control products and technologies based on customer needs

  • Covering predominantly home and personal care as well as oil and gas applications

  • Collaborate with the regulatory function in assembling biocidal registration dossiers

  • Participation in key technical & professional organizations and symposia targeted at microbial control in various markets

Qualifications

  • 10 years industrial experience in the biocides field. Preferentially in a business / company offering microbial control solutions. Alternatively, handling of biocides within a specific industry, e.g. home and personal care, oil and gas, or paints & coatings

  • Experience preferably collected in a technical role (technical service, research and development); previous sales, marketing, regulatory or production experience would also be considered; experience gained over multiple functions would be considered a strong plus

  • Ideally, a PhD degree (MSc will also be considered). The degree should be ideally earned in the field of Biological Sciences / Microbiology or/and Organic Chemistry, i.e. Biocides. Other technical degrees, like e.g. engineering will also be considered

  • Good English language skills are a must. German is considered as an advantage

  • Available to travel up to a 50% of the time
