DuPont Louisville Works is seeking a Reliability and Equipment Engineering Consultant to provide expertise and leadership to drive asset productivity through maintenance reliability at the Vinyl Fluoride (VF) plant located in Louisville, Kentucky.

Job scope:

  • Provide technical expertise for reliability engineering, mechanical integrity, and maintenance procedures for all equipment in the VF area.

  • Perform reliability analyses on existing equipment and implement improvements in equipment design and maintenance strategy to improve asset productivity.

  • Champion the corporate best practices for mechanical integrity and quality assurance (MIQA)

Responsibilities:

  • As PSM element champion for Mechanical Integrity and Quality Assurance,

  • lead implementation of Mechanical Integrity and Quality Assurance best practices.

  • Perform failure mode and effect analysis to develop appropriate equipment maintenance plans to include equipment checks and predictive preventative maintenance (PPM) performed by operators and mechanics.

  • Document equipment checks and PPM plans into the appropriate systems, such as SAP.

  • Perform PPM effectiveness assessments and assess the quality of the performed PPM tasks.

  • Lead PSM criticality assessment process to ensure adequate rationale is provided to develop and manage the MIQA Program, including critical spare parts, inspection plans and frequencies, and maintenance procedures.

  • Utilize reliability engineering tools, such as SAP, Meridian, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Risk Based Inspections (RBI), RCFA, and PPM Plan optimizations, to maximize equipment reliability and minimize life cycle cost

  • Apply engineering theory, practices, and principles to perform physical failure analysis, determine root cause of equipment failures and conduct equipment performance evaluations

  • Develop and update maintenance procedures.

  • Provide input for equipment inspection and repair during plant shutdowns

  • Participate in maintenance and reliability networks and share best practices, successes and failures.

  • Participate in continuing education courses, professional organizations and reliability conferences to stay current with new and emerging technologies.

  • Update site torque matrix

  • Site chemical hose champion Perform incident investigations associated with mechanical integrity failures and establish necessary controls to prevent the event from reoccurring.

  • SAP’s STRUXURE database owner at the Site. This database system is to setup items (spare parts SAP numbers) above the equipment level in SAP. For PSM-critical equipment, DuPont requires that a spare parts list be created and attached in SAP to facilitate purchasing.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred)

  • At least three years of reliability work experience

  • Six Sigma certified as Black Belt or Green Belt preferred

  • Working knowledge of

  • Maintenance and reliability best practices including the work management process

  • Data analysis techniques and statistical interpretation skills

  • Failure analysis including preservation of evidence techniques

  • Rotating equipment and alignment techniques

  • Basic Materials Science including material selection and properties

  • Lubrication, tribology, and fundamentals of interpreting oil analysis results

  • Vibration analysis and interpretation of vibration analysis reports

  • Fundamentals of nondestructive testing

  • Uptime metric and how to use the Upbase® software to extract operating data

  • Equipment Life Cycle Cost Analysis

  • Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
