Within the DuPont Protective Solutions, the Thermal Apparel (TA) segment provides high performance materials and solutions to a very diversified industry base, including following sub-segments: Thermal Industrial, Emergency Respond (ER), and Military/Police. Material offerings include NOMEX® and KEVLAR® Staple, Filament, Fabric and finished garments. The TA segment is a critical element of the Safety and Construction growth strategy, with significant existing business to defend and grow with aggressive marketing strategies in EMEA.

The Territory sales manager for DACH region will be responsible for developing relationship at the end user leve l to influence specification and ultimately position Nomex® solution through value chain partners.

Key responsibilities:

  • Create key influencers mapping for the main markets (understand regional (lander for Germany) vs national influencers);

  • Develop and implement detailed sales plans

  • Develop contact strategy to grow and defend the segments, position existing Nomex® solutions and new product innovations;

  • Developing strong relationships with key decision makers at end user level, f.e., Police Bodies (NRW Landesamt für Zentrale Polizeiliche Dienste,) leading professional fire fighters and voluntary firefighters, etc.

  • Recording Key tender opportunities and maintaining key opportunities updated in CRM system (Sales force) to maintain overview of the pipeline;

  • Follow up leads and opportunities to drive them to commercialization;

  • Gain understanding of Nomex® key value chain players (spinner weaver GAM) and respective portfolio to be able to quickly respond to tender requirements;

  • Develop understanding of product and service specificities in order to articulate Value Proposition for end users;

  • Continuously gather segment needs and competitive information for translation into unmet needs or gaps in our portfolio, potential change in marketing focus, technical requirements and marketing/technical tool and training developments.

  • Develop detailed understanding of competitive landscape as input to the marketing and technical team to develop new solutions




  • Strong sales competency. Effective Negotiation and Key Account management skills.

  • Experienced in tender management and associated sales process.

  • Demonstrated market understanding. Strong customer focus.

  • Organized and able to plan.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong track record in execution.

  • Excellent networking capabilities. Proven ability to work with multifunctional teams (sales, technical, supply chain, etc).

  • Technical knowledge and business expertise within TA and Military/Police and ER segments, knowledge of current and future drivers in at least one of these industries is a plus.

  • Fluent in German and English is a must; in addition, French, Spanish, Italian will be a plus.

  • Willingness for traveling about 50% of the working time
