Instrumentation Technician (Job Number: 194283W-01)
DuPont Nutrition & Health is seeking an Instrumentation Technician at our New Century, Kansas plant. If you are mechanically and electrically inclined and willing to work a second shift, then this is the role for you!
As the Instrumentation Technician, you will be responsible for the repair, calibration, and installation of electrical instrumentation, and control devices or systems of DuPont USA Inc. You will also be providing maintenance assistance on mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to the following:
Ensure operation of company electrical, instrumentation,and control equipment by performing routine and preventive maintenance tasks, calibrationand instrumentation tuning, repairs, rebuilds, and proper installation of newequipment in a safe manner. Thisincludes providing proper record keeping, especially of all safety checks.
Serve as a support person to other departments by trouble-shootingequipment failures in the electrical and instrumentation area. This will also include providing input toresolve process difficulties or design deficiencies.
Provide documentation for preventive maintenanceperformed, spare parts required, and calibration schedules.
Provide mechanical repairs and inspection as needed.
Update equipment history files as work is performed onequipment. Responsible for noting, onMaintenance bluelines, electrical wiring diagrams, control schematics or P& ID drawings, any changes, modifications made to the process systems. Maintain accurate spare parts usage log.
Keep work area clean and provide assistance in cleaningentire shop area.
Communicate work pending or requiring attention tomanagement and/or to next shift, technician.
Ensure adherence to all management systems including,ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 and Food Safety, with an understandingof DuPont's Quality and Environmental Policies and procedures. Responsible that these policies and proceduresare implemented throughout the organization and all related activities underthe position’s jurisdiction.
Responsiblefor entering, referencing and closing out maintenance work orders in the hostsystem.
Regular attendance is an essential function of thisposition.
Compliance with applicable company policies concerningmaintaining a drug free workplace is required.

The following are required:
A High school diploma or GEDequivalent and 2+ years of experience in a plant maintenance/related fieldOR a recent graduate with an Associate’s Degree or higher
Willing and able to work asecond shift (11:45am-10:45pm, Wednesday through Saturday)
Willing and able to climband/or work in elevated areas; standing and sitting for extended periods
Willing and able to work bothoutdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet and dry conditions
Willing and able to workovertime hours when required during seasonal peaks
Willing and able to wearpersonal protection equipment including, but not limited to, a respirator
The ability to workindependently
Strong communication,organizational, and interpersonal skills
The following are preferred:
2+years of experience in a plant maintenance role
Knowledgeof applicable electrical codes
