Nutrition & Health Corporate Counsel (Job Number: 193420W-01)
Seeking a new and challenging opportunity to further enhance your career? DuPont currently has an opening in its Legal Department- Commercial Counsel, supporting its Nutrition and Health business segment. This person provides a wide range of legal support to various business units and functions with DuPont Nutrition and Health, including general commercial and corporate legal support, contract negotiation and drafting, corporate compliance, and other related duties. May serve as primary commercial legal resource for specific business units, product lines, key accounts and/or strategic initiatives. May also serve as primary legal resource for specified regional office or in specified legal practice area (as applicable). Ensures corporate compliance with local and national law and regulations, as well as company policies.
What do we expect from you?
Drafts, reviews andnegotiates commercial contracts of a diverse nature with external, internationalparties balancing commercial opportunities and risk mitigation within theNutrition & Health business.
Providesstrategy, direction and guidance to internal stakeholders in legal matters end-to-endin product cycle and across the supply chain.
Counsels on abroad variety of legal subjects, including company, food, pharma, antitrust,intellectual property and employment laws.
Assesses andmanages legal risks by ensuring legal compliance and applying DuPont policiesand procedures
Provides management with legalanalysis and recommendations regarding threatened disputes and litigation andengages outside counsel representing DuPont to ensure requisite expert legaladvice is obtained when/as necessary.
Identifiesbusiness needs for and delivers education on selected legal subjects.
Establishesstrong and collaborative relationships with business and management teams thatare open, balanced, objective and have integrity.
Keeps Legal management andbusiness leaders well informed of significant case developments.
Contributing to the furtherdevelopment of DuPont Legal – process optimization, and legal tools
M&A activities, projectmanagement and other duties, as directed by Associate General Counsel.
What do we need from you?
Minimum Education: Juris Doctorate degree from anaccredited law school required.
Minimum Experience: 4-5 years of experiencepracticing as a licensed attorney at a law firm, corporation or with thegovernment.
Experience required in drafting, negotiating andimplementing commercial contracts within product supplies, joint developmentand transactions.
Experiencepreferred within antitrust, dispute resolution, risk management plus food andpharma laws.
Required Skills: Licensed member and in goodstanding of at least one US state bar.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills,including ability to make recommendations.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skillsnecessary to communicate with all levels of management and other parts of theorganization.
Time management and organizational skills necessaryto independently manage and appropriately prioritize case load, to meetdeadlines and goals.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and project aprofessional image at all times.
Self-motivated and team working with criticalattention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
Software skills, including use of Microsoft Officesoftware and web-based applications.
Ability to travel on a limited basis.
