Corteva Agriscience™, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont™ has an exciting opportunity for a Production Planning Manager for our Chatham-Kent location. The Production Planning Manager is responsible for safe, effective and efficient management of plant production processes, typically at the location or country level. Plans for production resources (manpower, machinery, equipment and tools, facilities and raw materials) needed to develop high quality seed on-time to meet distribution, delivery and stock transport schedules. Manages internal and external relationships. Manages both plant production operations through subordinate staff having full accountabilities in their respective areas. Provides leadership and decisions to staff on operational questions related to their areas and responsibilities. This job progression covers both commercial and parent seed production. May participate in field activities as determined by Production Location Manager.

Coordinate plant harvest operations as assigned.

  • Coaching & Feedback:Actively encourage and support employee and career development; coach staff instretch assignments and skill development critical to employees' jobs andoverall career objectives.

  • Communicate effectively:Hold regular team meetings, providing timely business updates.

  • Manage Human Capital:Consult with Human Resources for guidance and to ensure compliance. Oversee andparticipate as needed in making or approving personnel decisions (hiring,promotion, discipline, status changes, merit and rewards administration, etc.).

  • Operational:Plan organize and direct the plant operations which ensure the most effectivereturn on assets. Reviewing and approving plans for the control of plannedproduction output, budget spending, material efficiency,engineering/maintenance effectiveness. Manage the daily plant operations whichmay include, but not limited to: receiving, bulk management, conditioning,maintenance, inventory management, warehouse and distribution, ensuring on-timedelivery to meet both business and customer needs. Will directly coordinatevarious phases of plant and field operations. Make recommendations and assistin developing the plant's operating and capital budgets

  • Champion Business Improvement andProductivity Initiatives. Utilizing DuPont Production Systems (DPS) to identifyand prioritize productivity improvement opportunities at location.

  • Participate in the labor planningneeds assessment for all regular, temporary, and seasonal staff.

  • Provide input and discuss proposalsfor the development of the plant business plan.


What do we need from you?

  • Associates/Bachelor's degree inrelated area and five to seven (5 -7) years experience in production operationsor relevant education and experience required.

  • Supervisory or leadershipexperience important.

  • Responsible for overseeing workflowand requires ability to look several months forward to anticipate labor needs,resource needs, space requirements, regulatory demands etc.

  • Operations knowledge combined withpriority management skills and the ability to supervise/handle multiple tasksat one time is critical.

  • Must solve problems and makedecisions in time sensitive conditions.
