Corteva Agriscience™, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont™ has an exciting opportunity for a Territory Manager for our Guelph Area. The Territory Manager leads the sales effort for Pioneer® brand products. Perform direct selling activities, provide agronomy services to local growers, and serve as a coach and leader to a team of sales professionals. Directly manage the assignment of customers and prospects to sales representatives. Provide leadership and vision for the distribution channel (representatives)in the district. Administer North American Sales policies and programs to meet sales and profit goals for the district. Continue to teach and develop the agronomic skills of district sales representatives.
What do we expect from you?
Manage sales representative and performancethrough the establishment, communication and clarification of expectations.
Hold individuals accountable for meetingestablished performance standards.
Call on customers with representatives and serveas a role model, teacher and coach to sales representatives, demonstratingsales skills and customer responsiveness.
Identifycustomer and prospect opportunities and establish a plan to capitalize on theseopportunities with sales representatives.
Provide agronomic support and advice to growersand prospects and manage direct selling activities to assigned accounts whichincludes developing and maintaining the relationship, and servicing the accounteither personally or through an assigned point of sale.
Maintain a thorough agronomic and technicalknowledge of Pioneer products and services and troubleshoot some customer complaintsand work to resolve them.
Continually teach representatives new and betterways to meet the needs of the customer.
Coach sales team to enhance selling activity,differentiate products and services and build relationships.
Continually evaluate performance of individualsagainst standards and provide feedback that will enhance their salesperformance.
Provide necessary skills and knowledge trainingto meet sales performance objectives.
Recruit, select and retain a high qualityprofessional sales force that can meet the needs of customers.
Manage assigned account responsibility at thesales representative level, focusing customer by customer.
Set sales targets and tactical plans with eachsales rep for assigned customers and prospects.
Work with District Sales Leader on customer andprospect management and territory management.
Understand customer needs and provide feedback toorganization on product performance, program effectiveness and competitiveactivity.
Suggest improvements or alternative tactics tohelp achieve district and area goals.
Continue to develop professionally by remainingcurrent with new technologies, management innovations and sales managementdevelopments.
What do we need from you?
College Diploma but prefer Bachelor's degree inAgronomy, Business, or Marketing required; will consider other degrees withrelated field sales experience.
Minimum 5 years of sales experience, managing andcoaching individuals.
Demonstrated knowledge of: Selling methodologies and techniques. Agronomy and crop production practices. Marketing tools and techniques. DuPont product offerings in relation to seed. Competitive product/service offerings; local agricultural markets; value chain and crop production practices. Environmental, regulatory, and stewardship requirements for the various technology products. Company policies and procedures.
Demonstrated skills in: Selling, negotiating, influencing, conflict resolution, handling objections and coaching. Using computer hardware software/intranet to generate reports, territory plans, inventory data, access Pioneer information and complete administrative duties.
Demonstrated ability to: Build/maintain strong relationships with customers, key industry/market influencers, Pioneer & internal DuPont partners and teammates. Work effectively within a team environment. Lead and influence teams/projects and coach individuals in accomplishing defined objectives/goals. Understands the needs and values of partners and customers and to develop solutions to satisfy/retain. Get results by taking initiative, overcoming obstacles & finding creative solutions. Work independently with minimum supervision and operate within budget. Work in and adapt to a rapidly changing business environment.
