ProcessTechnician, Fermentation- Night Shift

Responsibilities:

Functional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Thisposition will be in the small-scale fermentation lab that supports thedevelopment of our R&D projects during the night shift (2200-0600)

  • Aspart of a team, this person will be responsible for the operation of 14L bioreactors,monitoring biological processes, and proper documentation.

  • Dutyincludes media preparation, tank maintenance, contamination monitoring, andanalytical processing to support fermentation operations.

  • Participatein continuous improvement efforts to increase quality and service levels,improve process safety, efficiency, and reliability.

Qualifications

Requirements:

The following are required:

  • Minimumeducation of Associates degree in Sciences.

  • Relevantlaboratory and/or manufacturing/production experience.

  • Strongmechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

  • Basiccomputer skills (experience with computer based process control systems a plus.)

  • Teamplayer with strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Abilityto conduct work during night shift (2200 - 0600), and work overtime (ifrequired).

  • Abilityto lift 50 pounds.

The following are preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Experience with biological systems and aseptic techniques is a plus.

  • Demonstratestrong sense of self-motivation and ability to work under minimal supervision.

  • Strongleadership experience in creating change, coordinating withco-workers/teammates in meeting expectations, and improving work efficiency.

  • Strongcommunication skills to create rapport both within and outside of immediatework team to generate smooth work flow and collaboration

  • Abilityprioritize and troubleshoot issues under pressure.

  • Abilityto learn emergent systems and cope with new environment.
