DuPont Electronics and Imaging (E&I) is seeking an Engineering Science Manager for the Cyrel® flexographic plates and equipment (Flexo) portion of the $500MM global Advanced Printing business. This is a global role with leadership responsibilities for 25 engineers in Parlin, NJ, US and Neu-Isenburg, Germany. The position is located at the Parlin, NJ site.

The Parlin, NJ site is one of two manufacturing locations that produce Cyrel ® printing plates for DuPont. It is located approximately 35 miles south of New York City. The Cyrel ® facilities in NJ and Germany consist of continuous plate extrusion lines, and there is an existing group of Process Engineers currently supporting these manufacturing lines.

The responsibilities of this position include leading the Manufacturing Technology (MT) and Quality Organizations for the Flexo business at Parlin and Neu-Isenburg, including the Reliability, Continuous Improvement, Quality Management System, and Automation and Process Control functions. These teams work towards delivering the technology and process capability needed to operate, maintain and improve the manufacturing operations. This group of multi-disciplined engineers delivers the technology and process capability needed to safely and reliably produce high quality products. Core responsibilities include driving PSM programs and systems to ensure compliance with corporate standards and regulatory requirements. Works closely with business and site manufacturing teams to define improvement goals (safety, asset productivity, and quality), leveraging opportunities, and leads technical resources to meet these objectives. Responsible for the development of technical resources and the building of the capabilities needed to support the safe and efficient operation of the plant. Coordinates the leveraging of manufacturing technology, reliability, quality and A&PC resources to improve effectiveness of the site and business. Interfaces with key business leaders to resolve issues and reconcile priorities.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field

  • Previous supervisory experience

  • Previous manufacturing experience

Core competencies:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical and chemical processes, and methodologies applicable to a manufacturing operation.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to both network and to be an effective team leader.

  • Solid demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Ability to motivate others to achieve results: a change agent.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and a high-volume workload with shifting and competing priorities.

  • Strong teamwork and organization skills.

  • Understanding of Six Sigma methodology

  • Experience with Process Safety Management

Other desired experience:

  • Prior experience in technical manufacturing support

  • Six Sigma Green or Black belt certified

  • Lean and/or Continuous Improvement experience a plus
