DuPont is currently looking for a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt located at our Asturias plant in Asturias - Spain, within the DuPont Safety & Construction business.
The Black Belt will support Aramids plant operations, supply chain improvement, and global Contract Manufacturing optimizations, and improve performance KPIs using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
The Aramids business, Kevlar® and Nomex®, in DuPont Safety & Construction serves a global marketplace from offices in all major regions of the world and has manufacturing facilities in Northern Ireland, Japan, Spain and the United States. DuPont Kevlar® and Nomex® products have been recognized worldwide for proven performance in a wide variety of safety and high performance applications, including automotive brakes and tires, body armor and protective apparel, aerospace and airplane components, medical packaging, graphics, and building materials.
Black Belt Position Responsibilities:
Responsible to improve business performance by leading improvement projects through application of the Six Sigma Lean methodology. Successful candidate will be accountable for the achievement of specific measurable improvement goals established by the Aramids CI leadership team.
Lead improvement projects that focus on productivity to achieve increased earnings via cost reduction, quality and reliability improvements.
Accountable for completion of projects that deliver measurable results that are financially validated.
Manage and lead improvement projects across the Aramids manufacturing sites and Supply Chain
Identify, define and lead projects to completion with functional, site, business and manufacturing teams.
Develop and implement OnePlant initiative plan to leverage best practice and Continuous Improvement culture at Asturias and Spruance sites.
Train and mentor Green Belts and assist with projects as necessary to facilitate successful project completion.
Provide leadership and direction for the application of Six Sigma methodologies.
Develop capability, buy-in and support for Six Sigma processes in the organization.
Resource teams to identify, define, implement and drive the completion of projects.
Promote discipline to using Six Sigma methodologies for all change throughout the organization.
Be responsible and accountable for achieving and maintaining a world leadership position on safety, environment, ethics and respect for people.

Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering or Science
Black Belt Certification required. Lean practitioner certification, a plus.
Project management, leadership and mentoring capability.
At least five years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
Ability to recognize opportunity for improvement, lead change and deliver results.
Effective communication and time management skills.
Capability to develop and apply statistical and computer skills.
Ability to coach influence, negotiate and network with numerous teams as well as work independently when needed.
Manufacturing, process technology, maintenance and reliability experience.
Innovation and creativity in problem solving and ability to apply proven methodologies
Sensitivity for dynamic business needs with the ability to accept and drive organizational change
