Corteva Agriscience™, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont™ is recruiting for a Precision Agriculture Research Associate to join our team in Salinas, Puerto Rico. If you are experienced with UAV’s and analyzing imagery, this may be a great opportunity for you! You will utilize your digital experience and expertise to help create and implement new programs at Corteva Agriscience™!

In this role you will:

  • Assess quality plots forall crops planted at Corteva farms using digital applied solutions andpredictive Ag such as UAV’s (small unmanned aerial vehicle). Assist Scientistin implementing land assignment strategy using company's mapping programsArcGis, Map Info and Pegasus; maintaining assigned equipment in excellentoperating conditions. Support regulatory group to comply with local and federallaws.

  • Implement digital applied solutions related with dronesor UAV’s using a prototype app call ISAIA (Integrated Solution Aerial iPadApp), for easily assess on corn plant populations in the early growth stages.It will be required to perform other duties such as pilot of UAV’s,following company protocols and training requirements, as well as local andfederal regulations.

  • Fully responsible for flighting fields and analyzingimages looking for greenness differences which would guide the researchscientist to which part of the field to look for pest pressure, nutritionaldisorders, weed presence and flooding issues. Keep maintenance and flight plansrecords following FAA requirements.

  • Supervise/guide Research Assistants in all tasks relatedto land field assignment, including but not limited to: land planning proposal,maintenance of database for land use by farm, project and crops, reports,planting maps, and field locations coordinates.

  • Ensure compliance with Worker Protection Standards (WPS),PPE requirements as well as DuPont Pioneer CORE values and safety guidelines.Perform safety inspections, and assist in providing safety training andguidance to field personnel.


The following are required

  • B.S in Agriculture orComputer Science with ability to work with digital technologies and precisionagricultural tools.

  • Must have an FAA UAVlicense.

  • Must be bilingual(English, Spanish), written and oral.

  • Proficient in Office 360.

  • Ability to work underminimum supervision.

  • Supervisory and leadershipskills is a must.

  • Capability to adapt andmanage changes.

  • Ability to work withinterdisciplinary teams.

  • Able to work on irregularshifts and overtime is required.

  • Must be able and willingto travel internationally (one or two times per year).

  • Must be able to teach,train and transfer knowledge into actions.

  • Occasionally lift up to50lbs.
