Aramids Turnaround Scheduler (Job Number: 195287W-01)
Turnarounds (TARs) allow a large volume of Maintenance and Capital work to happen in a relatively small production outage window. The Aramids TAR Scheduler is a critical role that inputs Maintenance, Capital & Production job activities into the TAR execution schedule with logic, appropriate resources assignments, and durations. This role requires high competency with specialized scheduling tools (Primavera or MS Project). Without this specialized ability the schedule cannot be optimized and the Business can suffer from extended downtime, additional Maintenance & Capital cost or negative SHE events.
This role will also provide leadership to for implementing best practice tools and processes used for to develop TAR schedules in Aramids working with the TAR Coordinator to optimize daily work schedules that maximizes the efficiency in utilization of maintenance resources that results in higher equipment uptime and lower maintenance costs.
The TAR Scheduler takes direction from the TAR Coordinator regarding turnaround objectives. The TAR Scheduler and the TAR Coordinator work very closely together to ensure that the tool reflects the physical world requirements and restrictions. This role is accountable to use Core Team input for building a turnaround schedule (events with durations and logic) that will be manipulated for the TAR Core Team to find the most effective schedule to meet business objectives.
The TAR Scheduler will be expected to follow the DuPont best practice scheduling processes and procedures to help positively impact both maintenance resource utilization and reliability, which directly affect production uptime. The TAR Scheduler must have the ability to work across departmental and plant teams, as well as have excellent communication skills. The scheduler will work to create fully loaded maintenance schedules, utilizing all available resources, identifying resource gap needs and scheduling PMs to be PM compliant.
This role will interface with other functional areas, such as operations, construction, and engineering as well other schedulers supporting area manufacturing units on site, therefore the ability to work with others and use influence management tools is critical for success. In Aramids, this role will provide the leadership that drives implementation of TAR Scheduling Best Practices.
Major Objectives of the Role
- Lead development of a fully integrated, logic driven, resource loaded and leveled schedule that includes all Maintenance, Capital, and Production activities to be executed in the TAR by DuPont and Contract personnel as directed by the TAR Coordinator.
a. Co-lead core team scheduling meetings when directed to ensure collection of all detailed information from individual TAR Core Team members (tasks, resources, duration, and logic) and build an efficient schedule.
b. Ensure scheduling tool represents proper relationships between individual tasks and jobs and provides the ability to optimize resources and timing
c. Provide input and facilitate Core Team discussions aimed at optimizing critical path and resource leveling.
d. Ensure TAR Core Team completes detailed review and approves final schedule.
e. Ensure TAR execution schedule includes all necessary tracking and reporting capability of daily schedule progression.
f. Facilitate identification of barriers to achieving TAR objectives and facilitate core team discussion to remove those barriers.
g. Provide input to the Add-on Work Request (AWR) process that would be necessary to understand the impact on the schedule and resources.
- Lead daily process to maintain and update Schedule during TAR execution
a. Lead the process to maintain schedule accuracy vs. current scope.
b. Generate all daily reports as required by TAR Core Team and TAR Coordinator.
c. Provide analysis vs. baseline schedule and options to correct as needed for current or future TARs.
d. Provide input to the Add-on Work Request (AWR) process that would be necessary to understand the impact on the schedule and resources.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
Minimum 3 years working experience scheduling large scale Routine Maintenance and/or Turnaround Maintenance.
Minimum 3 years working experience in Heavy Industrial Maintenance preferred.
Experience in CMMS systems preferably SAP, logical development and extensive knowledge of daily work management principles following the SAP management process for scheduling.
Experience with scheduling concepts and theory and how TAR work lists are tied with logic and sequencing.
Skills/ Knowledge/ Abilities:
Execute SAP Transactions required for scheduling TARs and collecting performance information.
Demonstrated ability to utilize influence management, to achieve desired results in a team environment.
Good interpersonal and Conflict Resolution Skills with the ability to influence managers, peers, and teams.
Self-motivated with the ability to execute with minimal supervision.
Ability to learn SAP specific transaction requirements.
Ability to follow standard procedures on scheduling process.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft® Office Suite.
Strong communication, presentation, leadership, and organizational skills.
Knowledge of budgeting, planning, and scheduling.
Ability to communicate effectively across all disciplines in the department
Experience with Primavera (P6 scheduling) preferred.
