DuPont Safety & Construction is a $5B global business that provides a range of products and solutions to protect people, property and processes and is the home of well-known brands, such as Tyvek®, Kevlar®, Nomex®, Styrofoam®, and Corian®. As part of our growth planning in Tyvek®, we seek a scientist or engineer who can develop and implement a global technology plan for Protective Apparel applications in Controlled Environment , while providing strategic direction to the business.

Job Description

  • Responsible for global application technical leadership in the Tyvek® Protective Apparel for Controlled Environment segment, work in partnership with Global and Regional Market Manager(s)

  • Identify, prioritize, and drive the pipeline of Protective Apparel new applications development for the Controlled Environment market

  • Provide the critical linkage between external market stakeholders and internal Business, Research and Operations Stakeholder’s

  • Actively network to enhance market technical expertise in protective apparel for controlled environment and connect externally throughout the value chain

  • Monitor the development of regulatory initiatives and support standards and norms working committees

  • Seek and maintain collaboration opportunities for open innovation with external partners, customers, suppliers and Research Institutes

  • Analyze competitive solutions, identify emerging competitive technology threats and drive the development of appropriate solutions to respond to such threats.

  • Monitor competitive IP activities with strategic response plan.Ensure IP is appropriately managed and defended for market segment

  • Serve as a trainer/mentor to the technical organization, building applied and fundamental expertise in the application development area, especially to less experienced team members

Qualifications

Qualifications (required)

  • M. Sc. and/or PhD degree in relevant scientific and/or engineering discipline

  • Demonstrated capability of building and leading cross-functional winning teams for developing and commercializing new products and applications

  • Conceptual, analytical and strategic thinking

  • Innovative and entrepreneurial initiative

  • Creativity, hands on, pragmatism

  • Excellent communication, networking, coaching and influential skills

  • Willingness to travel min 30%, including global travel

  • Language: English required, any additional language is a plus

Qualifications (desired)

  • M. Sc. and/or PhD in Chemistry or Micro-Biology or Physics or Material Science

  • Experience in Protective Apparel or Controlled Environment
