BioAnalytical Lab Technician (Job Number: 192375W-01)


DuPont Industrial Biosciences has an opportunity for a BioAnalytical Laboratory Technician in Rochester, NY. We are seeking a self-motivated individual with strong technical background and highest work ethics to join the Team dedicated to support global product commercialization and quality systems. In doing so, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to interact and build partnerships with cross functional groups throughout the Company and across various scientific disciplines.


  • Performs analytical techniques/methodologies.

  • Supports method development, validation, optimization, implementation, and crossover across various scientific disciplines in support of product/process initiations and qualifications.

  • Operation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.

  • Ordering and purchasing of lab chemicals and supplies.

  • Active participant of the lab who consistently contributes to the continuous improvement of the lab operations.

  • Effective team player willing to accept and share responsibility, help others, and ask for help when needed.

  • Works with Project/Team Leaders to make detailed observations, analyze data, and interpret results.

  • Works with Project/Team Leaders to prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, presentations, and quantitative analyses.

  • Communicates, advises, and consults within the lab and with cross-functional peers.

  • Contributes to projects and processes within their scientific discipline.

  • Works with minimal guidance to make detailed observations, analyze data, and interpret results.

  • Exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

  • Supports implementation of new technologies.

  • Assists/contributes to the coordination of work and project support.


  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent as a minimum. Work related experience is a plus.

  • Basic Analytical Chemistry, Enzymology, Protein Chemistry

  • Basic laboratory techniques and operation of laboratory equipment

  • Advanced math

  • Basic statistics

  • Ability to define, write, and follow SOP’s

  • Fundamental computer skills

  • Data collection, analysis, and interpretation

  • Writing of data summaries and basic scientific reports

  • Basic lab safety; knowledge of MSDS and chemical handling procedures

  • Organization, planning and basic task management skills

  • Sound decision making, problem solving, and troubleshooting

  • Ability to multitask

  • Effective communication skills in individual and group settings; interaction with peers and supervisors

  • Ability to train others

  • Coping/Conflict management

  • Ability to work within a team environment

  • Moderate to heavy lifting
