Reactor Planner/Asset Scheduler (Job Number: 194676W-01)
Seeking a new and challenging opportunity to further enhance your career? DuPont Specialty Products Division is seeking a Reactor Planner to join our team. The purpose of this role is to establish an optimized internal asset or external manufacturing production plan that meets the variability in customer demand while balancing the competing priorities of maximizing asset utilization, minimizing product change over costs, optimizing inventory and minimizing freight costs. This role exists to manage a complex series of factors that work in concert or opposition and can impact business operations in the immediate to midterm planning horizon.
What we expect from you?
Establishan optimized production plan, balancing competing priorities of maximizing assetutilization, minimizing cost of manufacturing changeovers, optimizing inventorylevels and dealing with variability in customer demand.
Continuallymonitor open orders, fluctuations in demand, production/quality/raw materialissues that could impact the production plan so that changes can be implementedproactively to ensure supply reliability to the customer.
Manageshort term supply/demand disruptions and lead collaboration with customerservice, manufacturing, logistics, transportation, 3 rd party serviceproviders and business partners to meet business obligations.
Routinelycheck and track inventory quantity, slow moving or other inventorystatuses. Drive resolution inidentifying solutions and disposition on inventories and taking action toimplement those solutions.
Proactivelycommunicate, solve and respond with customer service, regional or globalplanner, marketing/commercial and supply chain operations regarding issues withproduct availability where service level will be affected, e.g. order will notship on time.
Facilitateregular production scheduling meetings with manufacturing personnel and otherschedulers integrated with the production site to ensure operating planalignment. Create and track metricswhich indicate the performance of the plant against the schedule.
EnsureSAP system set-up aligns with operating strategy (MRP settings, APO, etc). Own the Global Material Identification (GMID)creation for the business– Create and maintain material master data in SAP foreach GMID. Drive excellence in supplychain scheduling by utilizing the most effective technology for assetscheduling.
Identifyand implement improvement opportunities.
Leadand/or participate on teams (customer success teams, new product introductionteams, etc.) to assist and facilitate the improvement of our processes,increase our efficiencies and decrease our expenses.
Mustbe available/on call 24x7 to support needs of business.
What do we need from you?
Qualifications/Critical Success Factors:
Bachelordegree, preferably in Supply Chain, Engineering, Science or Business
3-5years of experience in a relevant planning position
StrongMicrosoft Excel skills
SAPexperience is preferred
Manufacturingknowledge/experience is a plus
APICSCPIM Certification or commitment to achieve certification is recommended
Stronganalytical thinking is required. Thisrole is about creating a plan and solving problems.
Independentaction is needed to analyze options, identify and review risk factors andmitigation scenarios. Assess therelative value of various options to make a decision. Then implement the desired solutionindependently or within the context of the team and/or network.
Theability to draw conclusions from incomplete data is imperative; understands andtakes appropriate actions from early trending data (weak signals).
Musthave excellent initiative, communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness andteamwork.
Usesspecific supply chain concepts, work processes, methodologies and tools tocomplete work. Capability to translatethis knowledge into day to day operations like Optimal Order Quantities,Safety/Cycle Stock Calculations, etc.
Mustpossess profound business and product knowledge and how their structures arerepresented in SAP (business structure, material structure.
Mustunderstand concepts, and strategies related to demand management, procurementand supplier planning, material requirements planning, capacity requirementsplanning, sales and operations planning, master scheduling, performancemeasurements, supplier relationships, quality control, continuous improvement,logistics modes (road, rail, marine), and International Trade.
Fullunderstanding of manufacturing capability, capacity and constraints.
