Corteva Agriscience™, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont™ is currently seeking a Safety Supervisor in Rushville, IN to assist the management team in overall administrative coordination of the established Safety Programs and provide direction, support, and consultation to the location regarding safety, health and environmental issues.

In this role, you will be challenged with a variety of responsibilities in relation to Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) issues. The Safety Supervisor is primarily in a production office setting with regular interaction taking place in high traffic & activity plant/warehouse areas, plus visits to field locations. You will be the key person ensuring safety programs and guidelines are understood and reinforced through training, coaching, and leading others. Creativity is needed to keep materials interesting and fresh.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Initiate and complete riskmanagement assessments in the areas of safety, occupational health, environmental,industrial hygiene and hazardous waste management
Work closely with site trainingcoordinator to deliver business and site training to employees
Facilitate investigation ofenvironmental, health, safety and security (EHS&S) incidents followingcompany incident investigation process
Support location inrecord-keeping of federal, state and company programs
Administer safety programs by reviewing,interpreting and implementing the company environmental, health, safetyand security policies and programs for compliance
Develop and implement sitespecific safety policies/programs as needed
Review facility operations andconsult with Risk Management, site safety committee, EHS&S networksand employees to identify unsafe working conditions and develop appropriatecontrols or alternatives
Assist location management indelivering outstanding safety culture
Provide “energy” to thelocation, demonstrated by frequent and consistent communication about theimportance of safety & risk management efforts
The following are required:
Two year technicaldiploma/degree or equivalent
Two to four (2-4)years on-the-job agricultural and/or industrial safety experience(equivalent relevant experience and education will be considered)
The ability to access a varietyof environments including but limited to elevated areas, crawl spaces, dryers,machinery, and etc.
Excellent communication skills
Coaching & leadershipskills
Willing and able to work in avariety of areas (field, plant, warehouse)
Willing and able to climband/or work in elevated areas; standing and sitting for extended periods
Willing and able to work bothoutdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet and dry conditions
Willing and able to lift up to50 lbs. and complete work that involves repetitive motion and/orrepetitive lifting
Willingness and ability to workovertime hours including weekend work required during seasonal peaks
High level of computerabilities
The following are preferred:
OSHA 10-hr or 30-hr trainingcertification
Program Management &Training: Thorough understanding of record keeping requirements, incidentreporting, incident investigation, and timeframes for each program.
Workplace Safety: Knowledge ofFirst Aid, CPR, and AED skills and certification; thorough knowledge ofsafety regulations
Occupational Health: Thoroughknowledge of basic industrial hygiene and occupational health hazards andregulations
Fire Prevention & Response:Understanding of fire codes, standards, and regulations. (fire detection& alarm system testing and maintenance, flammable liquid storage, hotwork permits, etc.)
Environmental: Awareness ofapplicable environmental policies, standards, guidelines, regulations, andlocal requirements. (spill containment, facility waste stream &disposal requirements, etc.)
High attention to detail isneeded to maintain awareness of existing and proposed safetycodes/regulations and company guidelines plus maintain and analyzeappropriate data
Must be proactive as well assolve problems and make decisions in time sensitive conditions
