Operations and Site Communications Manager, North America West (Job Number: 192359W-01)
Reporting to the Global Operations & Sites Communications Leader, executes Operations & Site Communications strategy at all of crop protection manufacturing, seed integrated operations, R&D and commercial offices within an assigned geography.
Provides multifaceted communications support, including local community investment, government affairs, media relations and employee communications
Engages site employees using internal communications strategies and tactics.
Handles communications response in the event of an issue or crisis, and is a key member of assigned sites’ issues and crisis planning and mitigation response teams.
Advises site leaders and engages with the local communities about charitable giving, community events and educational opportunities, building connections to strengthen our reputation and trust in the surrounding area.
Manages Government Relations with our key host cities and local political leaders.
Represents and defends the interests of the Agriculture Division on local industry groups
Provides general Public Affairs support for assigned sites.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or related field required/Master’s degree preferred
Must have 7+ years’ experience in external communications, preferably providing direct support to manufacturing, operations and sites.
Must have media relations experience.
Must have deep knowledge of Agriculture Division manufacturing process, and of the local community and key stakeholders.
Experience handling issues and crisis communications.
Experience and/or proficiency in analyzing internal processes and systems and translating them in a simple way for improvement and replication.
Ability to engage a range of audiences through writing, and to fully utilize and maintain various communications channels.
Ability to translate strategic goals into clear delivery plans.
