Seeking a new and challenging opportunity to further enhance your career? Corteva Agriscience™, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont™ has a development opportunity for a Research Assistant at the Saskatoon Research Centre. The successful candidate will assist with canola, soybean and corn research activities. This position will run 6 months in duration, starting April 30 th 2018.

Position duties will include:

  • Seed organization and set up

  • Field preparation, seeding, spraying, plot maintenance, plot evaluation, harvest, and post-harvest quality analysis.

  • Identifying any pest, disease, or environmental problems relating to the canola, soybean and corn crops.

  • Data organization and entry.

  • Assistance with greenhouse projects from planting to harvest.

  • Assist with tours at key demonstration sites.

  • Monitor compliance of canola trait development at research sites.

  • Assist with harvest in canola, corn and soybean trials


To be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

  • completing a Degree or Diploma in Agricultural Science or related field

  • Class 5 Drivers license (or Class 1A Drivers license (truck and trailer) or G endorsement preferred

  • Growers Pesticide Safety Course (Must obtain within 90 days of hiring)

  • a fast learner, with a high aptitude for precision and accuracy

  • Must be highly motivated and well suited for work in both team orientated and independent situations

  • Willingness to travel throughout Saskatchewan and work overtime hours as necessary

  • Must be safety orientated

  • Experience with field equipment or greenhouse an asset but not required.
