material planner (Job Number: 194459W-01)
- Participate as a member of local supply teams responsible for planning, sourcing, and delivering a portfolio of products aligned to the business.
Manage the planning and procurement of raw materials from 3 rd party suppliers and/or inter-company supplied materials, to ensure all materials required to meet the production schedule and materials inventory strategy are available.
Ensures daily, weekly, and monthly activities are operating as per the Materials Planning work process:
· Entering and tracking purchase orders that are imported by working with Supplier(s), ITO Specialist(s), and Customs Broker(s), as well as trucking and storage facilities/ suppliers
· Management of purchase orders needing to be repacked prior to being delivered to the production facility.
Participate in weekly local supply team meeting to ensure material availability to meet schedule. First point of contact for all raw material and packaging issues.
Review MRP exception messages within the planning time fence and resolve or escalate supply/demand imbalances as appropriate.
Manage the SAP Material Master Data for raw materials and packaging components to ensure realistic generation of requisitions in SAP.
Participates in Modify & Improve Supply Chain (M&ISC) projects as the Material Planning representative and leads projects as needed.
Work with Purchasing and Strategic Sourcing Managers to manage and identify best practices for complex Raw Material supply chains. This may include analysis and activities in areas of forecasting, storage, logistics, hazardous classification updates, tracking, etc.
Manages and tracks supplier/vendor performance as needed. Enter and respond to quality messages in order to resolve issues related to supplier performance.
Work with Master Scheduler to develop and execute RM and packaging inventory strategies and identify Lean opportunities within portfolio.
Lead Supply Chain improvement programs and projects using Lean, Six Sigma and Project Management methodology supported by a team. Work with Sponsor, Process Owners and teams in various functions to deliver measurable business benefits, through business process improvements.
Accountable for achieving the project objectives and delivering a sustainable solution that best meets the supply chain needs, on time, within cost, and within scope.
Collection the Improvement Ideas from various function within Supply Chain, review and assign project leader
Participate the Global/Regional Improvement network meeting.
This role will be key in the implementation of an improved Lean culture. Besides the lead of Kaizen events, specific task will consist in defining production relevant KPI’s and implementing regular follow-up. Coaching the team of Lean methodology
Be the focus point of EBIT tracking tool, record the saving in the tool.
BS/BA degree in Supply Chain, business, or technical field
Previous experience in Manufacturing, Supply Chain Operations, Purchasing, International Trading Operations, SAP or database management is preferred
APICS CPIM coursework (expected at least Basics of Supply Chain and Detailed Production Scheduling)
Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail.
Have ability to take initiative and work effectively both independently and on teams.
- Proficient in application of tools and technology (SC system thinking)
Sound base in MRP2/IBP/ERP technology and supply chain systems
Strong communication skills & teamwork.
