Business Intelligence Data Specialist (Job Number: 019104W-01)


Job Description


The DuPont Safety and Construction Business Intelligence team provides analytical solutions and business data insights to a wide range of functions including sales, supply chain, marketing and finance. We are looking to expand our capabilities by adding the role of Data Specialist. In this role, you would be responsible for all aspects of data management from collecting, processing and loading data to working on projects to increase the level of automation or to improve data quality and to drive value extraction.

Position activities include:

  • Run reports in business systems including BusinessWarehouse,, DDCA, SAP and SharePoint to extract the datarequired to feed a wide range of business reports.

  • Perform data clean up tasks in Excel includingnormalization, deduplification, data conversion (e.g. string to date) etc.

  • Load data into SQL using data tools provided.

  • Control data processes and take corrective action whenerrors are identified. Corrective action may include executing a workaround process and then identifying the cause and solution for dataerrors.

  • Participate as a full member of the global BusinessIntelligence team, providing solutions for and insights into data relateditems.

  • Collaborate with your Business Intelligence colleaguesacross the world to share key learnings, leverage ideas and solutions andto propagate best practices. You will lead projects that include otherteam members and participate in projects led by other team members.

  • Apply change management tools including training,communication and documentation to manage upgrades, changes and datamigrations.

  • Work with Business Intelligence Specialists to identifybest data sources to meet new business requirements. Use your data skillsand knowledge to evaluate alternative data solutions to businesschallenges, then design, implement, test and deploy the solution so thatnew analytical solutions can be provided in a fast and efficient way.

  • Keep up to date with the latest technology and tools.Identify opportunities to apply new ideas to old problems so that we arealways on the cutting edge; always one step ahead.

  • Participate in selected business development programsproviding data to support program goals and to ensure that thoseimprovements are sustained once the activity is complete.


Job Qualifications

To be qualified for this role, youmust possess the following:

  • Strong Englishlanguage skills (written and spoken)

  • Experience of 5- 8 years in data analysis

  • Bachelor’sDegree in math, science, engineering, IT or related area

  • Exceptionalpersonal computer skills

  • Exceptionallyproficient in the use of Excel, specifically regarding data transformation

  • Strong knowledgeof data concepts and tools

  • Fluent andeffective communication skills

  • Ability to be aneffective team member with remote colleagues spread across the world

  • Ability to workindependently

The following are preferred, but notnecessary:

  • Experience withTableau Desktop

  • Experience withMicrosoft Access

  • Previousexperience with SAP, Business Warehouse or

  • Computerlanguage or scripting skills

  • Good knowledgeof statistics
