EH&S Implementation – Operations Specialist (Job Number: 195982W-01)
1. Represent the Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Hub sites with the EH&S Hub Leader in order to ensure that the unique needs of the area sites are understood and incorporated into the Hub EH&S Program.
2. Provide leadership and hands-on presence to ensure a safe, secure and compliant workplace across the Hub Area, delivering outstanding EH&S performance and sustaining the License to Operate.
3. Work in close partnership with EH&S Hub Leadership to ensure all work processes and resources are in place and properly utilized and aligned.
4. Partner with EH&S Hub Leader, EH&S Center of Excellence (CoE) and Site Leadership to ensure appropriate, consistent implementation and maintenance of EH&S work processes, best practices and most effective technologies; coordinate, align priorities and initiatives; audit the effectiveness of work processes and implementation; analyze performance data for trends and identify opportunities for improvement across the Hub Area.

Leadership and Planning
Ø Align EH&S objectives with corporate, platform, geographic and functional strategies and priorities.
Ø Collaborate closely with the EH&S Hub Leader to ensure plans are well communicated and supported.
Ø Assist EH&S Hub Leader with providing environmental, Industrial Hygiene (IH), health, safety, process safety/containment, and motor vehicle leadership, support and expertise to the Hub area sites in a manner that is compatible with local issues and culture.
Ø Measure functional performance against goals, client expectations and work with Hub Leader to develop improvement plans.
Ø Participate in global cross-functional networks and leadership teams.
Work Process / Improvement
Ø Acts as the regional focal point for EH&S disciplines (environmental, IH, health, safety, process safety/containment, and motor vehicle, etc.).
Ø Partner with Operations / R&D to leverage resources in order to drive EH&S performance by utilizing all available EH&S tools and work processes.
Ø Coaches teams and individuals on EH&S related tasks / activities and acts as the area resource for related EH&S information on procedures, guidelines and standards.
Ø Provides hands-on environmental, IH, health, safety, process safety/containment, and motor vehicle assistance for the sites as indicated.
Ø Analyze and evaluate site EH&S performance to identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
Ø Supports site compliance with Corporate EH&S Standards and Governmental Regulatory Requirements. Provide local input to Hub Leader for regulatory strategies and advocacy.
Ø Supports regional self-assessment, audit, and regulatory compliance corrective action completion & validation.
Ø Supports regional corporate Process Safety and Containment work process implementation.
Ø Ensures all appropriate IH programs, monitoring and health surveillance requirements are met.
Ø Facilitate incident investigations and root cause analysis.
Ø Support contractor companies with site EHS standards compliance.
Ø Assist site responses to geographic and/or EH&S / Emergency Response & Security (ER&S) issues (in concert with ER&S Team) and crises that affect operations consistent with site, business, and corporate "license to operate" requirements.
Ø Owner of Operating Discipline Management System (ODMS) EH&S elements for the Hub area sites.
Ø Implement, utilize, maintain and promote EH&S management systems (ODMS).
Ø Ensures minimization of local customization of EH&S / ER&S management systems whenever possible and leads / champions management system reviews in order to drive continuous improvement.
Ø Supports cost-effective delivery of EH&S and ER&S systems.
Ø Provide expertise and support for site environmental stewardship, waste management, site due diligence and remediation (where indicated).
Ø Ensure delivery of required EH&S training.
Ø Lead and provide data for EH&S audits / assessments.
Ø Collects, analyzes, calculates and inputs data for EH&S reporting as necessary.
Ø Performs field observations and safety interventions.
Ø Completes documentation and facilitates waste characterizations.
Ø Monitors EH&S compliance tasks completion.
Ø Initiates and/or supports Site Management of Change (MoC) for EH&S matters as necessary.
Ø Links to EH&S CoE to obtain clear interpretations on site-specific regulatory processes, regulations, laws and associated procedures.
Ø As required, participates in the environmental, IH, health and safety related reviews and project support.
Ø Aligns with Information Technology (IT) initiatives, updates, cyber security processes and tools.
Ø Participate and support Hub EH&S network in order to drive improvement and facilitate change.
Ø Support community initiatives and/or communication networks in order to sustain the companies' public 'License to Operate'.
Ø Support EH&S advocacy initiatives including proactive value-based participation in relevant Hub Area industry, professional associations and external networks per the direction of the EH&S Hub Leader.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES ANDEXPERIENCE
Ø Bachelor’s degree (4/5 yrs) in an applicable scientific discipline is required; Professional certification where applicable
Ø 5+ years of relevant industry experience, knowledge and skills in a manufacturing / industrial environment
Ø Fluent in English
Ø Willing to travel 20-40%
