DuPont Transportation and Advanced Polymers (T&AP) is recruiting a Business Development Representative to join our automotive team in Troy, Michigan. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and executestrategies to grow the business, drive new product innovation and launchnew products into powertrain, thermomanagment, thermoplastic composites, and capabilities to enable autonomous driving

  • Translate T&AP engineering resinsolutions and technology into win-win growth for DuPont and our customers

  • Develop and leadimplementation of detailed marketing plans – including value-in-use basedpricing and marketing communications strategies

  • Segment, target andinfluence key decision makers in the automotive value chain to drive rapidextension of successful applications

  • Build in-depth knowledgeof both in-kind and not-in-kind solutions to anticipate trends and changesto our value proposition

  • Leadership andprioritization of cross-functional teams – R&D/Technical/Commercial –in application development process

  • Integration with globalautomotive sales and marketing teams to ensure customer coordination andalignment as well as shared experience and knowledge

  • Customer responsibilitymainly targeted at automotive in the NAFTA region

Qualifications

The following are required:

  • Bachelor's degree inengineering (chemical or mechanical preferred) and at least two years ofexperience in the automotive or plastics industry

  • Understanding ofOEM/Tier development cycles, budgeting process

  • Ability to buildcollaborative relationships internally and with customers

  • Strong presentation andcommunication skills, along with excellent analytical skills

  • Independent and flexiblework attitude combine with the ability to set own targets and persistenceto execute

  • Encouragement andownership to drive innovation projects for sophisticated customers tocompletion within tight timelines

  • Courage to take harddecisions on starting/stopping programs and proejcts

  • Ability to travel up to25% (will vary)

The following are preferred:

  • Project managementexperience

  • Business development experience

  • Strongknowledge/experience with automotive business development process

  • Experience withCAE/Moldflow

  • Use and knowledge ofSalesforce.com

  • Deep knowledge of thepolymers/engineering plastics market and industry
