The position is responsible for supporting DuPont Business Units in EMEA with the procurement of high quality, timely, and cost-effective logistics services for the safe storage and distribution of DuPont products.

Works together with the Procurement Team, Business Units, Logistics Optimization Teams and other Corporate Functions to determine appropriate sourcing strategies and recommend qualified Logistics Services Providers (LSPs).

Ensures suppliers comply with regulatory requirements, DuPont safety standards and highest ethical standards.

Works with the Procurement Team to develop and execute strategies to ensure maximum leverage of buy across DuPont, in EMEA and globally.

Job Functions:

  1. The position must develop a working knowledge of the Logistics Industry, both domestic and international, to ensure EMEA Logistics Team goals and service objectives are achieved. It requires a working knowledge of supply chain operations and more specifically the process flow, equipment and technology of logistics services. The position must ensure safe handling, storage, transportation and delivery of DuPont products per the scope of work.

  2. The position works with a team to lead and execute logistics strategies, best practices and process improvements all the while abiding by all corporate policies and procedures. The position will initiate, develop and lead the bid process to secure services based on changing or new service requirements while collaborating with Business Units and Functions (i.e. SHE, Legal, Real State, IT etc.) to ensure the highest quality service available. The position must have a good intermediate understanding of contract law to be able to negotiate pricing, liability, indemnity, insurance, etc. as well as other terms and conditions of procurement agreements. The position will then write/develop competitive contracts with aggressive terms and conditions related to cost, early terminations and payment terms that provide maximum protection for DuPont.

  3. The position aggressively works on establishing new ways to reduce and/or eliminate unnecessary costs in the supply chain by influencing suppliers to improve their methods and processes thereby driving out cost with no negative impact on productivity or service. Be a change agent.

  4. The position will also monitor supplier evaluations to ensure optimal satisfaction by the client. It acts as the go-between for Business Unit and the Logistics Services Providers for all contractual matters which may involve resolving daily operational issues.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree with preferred focus in Business or Logistics, and/or equivalent work experience in contracts, logistics and/or procurement.

  • Strong knowledge/capability in logistics, contracts, procurement strategies and negotiation skills.

  • Motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills, attention to detail and a positive attitude.

  • Strong organizational and networking skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems with respect to supplier capability against business needs.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, execute and monitor programs, processes and systems for continuously improvement.

  • Project management skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency using the Office365 package (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint).

  • Language skills: Proficiency level on English and at least on one additional Western European language (more languages will be an asset).

  • Certifications like Certified Professional in Supply Management® (CPSM®), or Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt will be an asset

  • Travel requirements: 25% (approx.)

  • Location: Western Europe, preferably BENELUX, Germany or France.
