Currently we are looking for Production Location Manager , a senior leader that will lead the production and supply operations of the Seed Division in Romania.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for effective and profitable management of assigned production plant.

  • Plans for and mobilizes resources needed to develop high quality seed on-time to meet delivery and stock transport schedules, plus manages distribution of other products.

  • Provides leadership to staff regarding operation of all their areas and responsibilities:

§ Organizational structures and jobs designed to meet results

§ Workforce plans developed to determine future needs, how to best source candidates, etc

§ Qualified workers attracted and retained

§ Individual differences and talents leveraged and valued; work teams used and managed effectively

§ Goals and priorities clarified, aligned, and well managed

§ Performance management and development process utilized to coach and provide feedback to employees.

§ Individual and workgroup learning and continuous improvement encouraged.

§ Employees provided opportunities for dialogue and open communication.

§ Effort and results recognized and rewarded. Issues and conflicts resolved.

§ Ability to respond and adapt to a rapidly changing business environment enhanced.

§ Assistance from HR & Production Manager obtained as needed.

§ All personnel decisions (e.g., hiring, promotion, discipline, etc.) reviewed and approved.

  • Safety and wellness promoted.

  • Achievement of annual plan and budget business targets. This includes, but is not limited to, identifying and interpreting local issues and trends, developing production and workforce projections, and developing and submitting capital and operational budgets for approval.

  • Local optimization and on-time completion of production plans.

  • Achievement of seed-quality plan standards.

  • Manages internal and external relationships.

  • Maintaining good working relationships with other groups in SM, growers, contract conditioners, etc. maintained.

  • Positive community relations maintained via coordination and participation in public relations activities.

  • Compliance with state regulations.

  • Compliance with Production Operations, SM, and Company policies and guidelines:

§ Input into Production Operations policies and guidelines provided.

§ Adherence to Quality Plan and ISO procedures, including assuring up-to-date ISO documentation is maintained.

§ Plant & field policies and standard operating procedures (e.g., work hours, allocation of acreage, etc.) developed and implemented.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Higher technical or business degree.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in production management, preferably in agriculture industry.

  • Experience in strategic planning and goal setting, budgeting, and supervision.

  • Understanding of business and production economics.

  • Ability to effectively work with and manage people from diverse backgrounds.

  • Excellent management and leadership skills.

  • Fluency in English.
