DuPont Washington Works is seeking a Site SHE Manager. The position coordinates all Safety (including PSM), Environmental, and Security activities for the site and will serve as a member of the sites overall strategic leadership team.

Washington Works Site Background

The DuPont Washington Works Site is a large manufacturing facility within DuPont and provides excellent opportunities for growth and career enhancement. The Site manufactures a diverse product offering that contributes significantly to the Transportation and Advanced Polymers (T&AP) business. The DuPont facility is located within a large manufacturing industrial complex that includes two other manufacturing companies.

The Washington Works Site is located near Parkersburg, West Virginia and is an excellent place to live for a person interested in an area with low traffic and short commute times, but still desiring to live in an area with excellent Education Opportunities, popular Retail Stores and diverse Cultural and Art Programs.

Parkersburg, West Virginia is conveniently located near a multitude of excellent West Virginia and Ohio weekend vacation destinations and is centrally located between the metropolitan areas of Charleston

(West Virginia), Columbus (Ohio) and Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania).


  • The SHE Manager is accountablefor overseeing compliance of all site and governmental related SHE policies,procedures and methods. Provides oversight, develops solutions and facilitatesimplementation of SHE programs. Ensures site compliance with identifiedrequirements.

  • The SHE Manager responsibilitiesinclude:

  • Continually and deliberatelyidentify and implement improvements in works systems, processes and peopledevelopment through driving weekly key KPIs, assigning and managing remedialactions for all adverse performance

  • Administer SHE program meetingrequired reviews, deadline monitoring of and timely reporting

  • Responsible for tracking andaccurate reporting of SHE metrics at site and above site level

  • Actively leads the site ProcessSafety Management Committee

  • Responsible for outreach andinquiries to/from Government Agencies related to SHE and security activities,which would include; OSHA, EPA, WVDEP, state and local law enforcement

  • Ensure direct report developmentincluding their empowerment, training in compliance requirements, performance,and accountability

  • Manage fixed and variable coststo department budgeted levels

  • Zero OSHA recordables (Employeesand Contractors), process safety events (Tier 1 &2), and Notice ofViolations

  • Accuracy and timeliness ofauditing responsibilities of policy/procedure implementation



  • Bachelor’s Degree in relatedfield preferred

  • Experience in safety, security,process safety and occupational safety or related industrial management field

  • Demonstrated track record in producingsafety improvement

  • Experience in managing a team ofprofessional employees

  • Direct experience with ProcessSafety Management

  • 2 nd Party auditorcertification or aptitude to achieve certification

  • Experience with OSHA, DEP, EPAregulatory agencies

  • Policy and procedure creationand implementation

  • Experience in a High Hazard Processenvironment (HHP) and/or OSHA covered processes

  • Demonstrated ability to work asa team player
