Corteva Agriscience™, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont™ has an exciting opportunity for a Research Associate at our Olivia Minnesota Multi-Crop Research Center. This individual will serve as an active team member for a comprehensive product development, characterization, and commercialization program. The Research Associate will support all phases of planning and execution including data collection, seed inventory, and data quality of field and laboratory experiments.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Assists Research Scientists and other Associates with organizing, planning, and conducting field and laboratory experiments. Duties include seed preparation, entry list generation, mapping, seed filling, seed shipping, seed inventory management, planting, plot maintenance, data collection, pollinating, and harvest (including combine operation). Supports other projects and initiatives as needed such as Agronomy Sciences, Trait Integration, and Sales.

  • Conducts experiments, to completion, according to specific procedures, exercising independent judgement and discretion as appropriate. Provide agronomic management support for nursery and yield test locations, including insect and weed control programs.

  • Provide information and data management support. Maintains large databases, germplasm inventories, and nursery/yield experiments.

  • Learn and contribute toward conducting special tests, including tissue sampling, herbicide screening experiments, parent testing, precision phenotyping, grain sampling, etc.

  • Maintains, organizes and summarizes results of experiments, noting problem areas, while recommending actions to be taken within standard procedures.

  • May contribute with UAS (drone) plot quality flights and image analysis.

  • Organizes and supervises work of Research Assistants and/or temporary employees ensuring work is performed in safe and efficient manner.

  • Inspects and performs routine maintenance on equipment used to conduct experiments at the designated work location.

  • Safety is a condition of employment


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as math and computer skills.

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and other related software with mainframe application for data analysis, word processing, data storage, and file manipulation.

  • Excellent personal interaction skills required for fostering teamwork, enhancing a good working environment, and effectively developing strong internal and external working relationships with a diverse group of people.

  • Outstanding desire for learning and innovation with dedication to quality focused on making a significant contribution to agricultural industry developments.

  • Possess or be capable of obtaining a pesticide applicator's license and a Commercial Drivers License (CDL).

  • Strong self-motivation and ability to initiate projects, make decisions, and effectively solve problems.

  • May be required to do physical lifting and work in varying ergonomic environments.
