Job Description:

Provide Automation & Process Control consulting and technical services to multiple sites in support of capital projects aimed at migration away from the Dow proprietary MOD system. Validate the successful operation of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) applications and solutions to realize the objectives of these projects. Work extensively with Manufacturing and Technical personnel, project leaders and team members, full service design contractors, and IT specialists to ensure business needs are met.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the migration of process data historian, alarm management, and other related manufacturing IT software to commercially available tools.

  • Work with IT to validate proper SAP transactional capabilities in migrated system.

  • Train personnel on how to effectively utilize end user tools to maximize the value historical process, batch, and alarm data.

  • Analyze new technology to make recommendations for future upgrades within the business.

  • Work with IT to ensure security compliance of all assets.

  • Ensure disaster recovery plans are in place for all related technology.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • B.S. Computer, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or Information Technology or related field with at least 5 to 10 years of industrial process data management experience.

  • Demonstrated skills in configuring, documenting, and troubleshooting process data historians, alarm management software, and related technology.

  • Working knowledge of VAX/VMS and SAP platforms.

  • Working knowledge of the ISA95 standard, and key transactional processes such as Goods Issue and Goods Receipt.

  • Experience interfacing MES tools to industrial control applications (DCS, PLC, SCADA, etc.).

  • Experience with capital project processes, particularly migration projects.

  • Good interpersonal skills to allow productive and collaborative relationships with internal and external customers, vendors, operations, mechanical and technical personnel.

  • Must be self-motivated and have great attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated skill to work individually, as a member of a team, and through influence.

  • Ability to travel as needed (25%) to support capital project activity.
