Business Process Specialist (Job Number: 196822W-01)
The DuPont Transportation & Advanced Polymers EDI Analyst will deliver, coordinate, implement, and communicate the organization's Internet-based strategies and initiatives for Business to Business (B2B) Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems. This role will also act as liaison between customers, suppliers, internal system end users and IT staff. The EDI Analyst has a strong understanding of the business processes (STC and RTP), a working knowledge of EDI concepts, and business use or potential use of EDI. This individual will utilize this knowledge by being part of a core team for each new EDI project request and assumes responsibilities that include front-end loading, requirements gathering, review/approval of map designs, testing, and participation in weekly status meetings. The EDI Analyst must also perform the required tasks within the backend application systems to process the business transactions and is responsible for all backend application setup required for EDI/B2B including the tables, output parameters, and partner profile setups, and developing/executing tests which allow for successful exchange of messaging. This individual will interpret and act upon errors supplied by the EDI support organizations. Duties will include, but not be limited to, application user support, problem solving, run and maintain tasks and assist with testing related to EDI and B2B activities, and training new users on SAP EDI processes.
Implement business strategic initiatives to enable EDI capability with external trading partners globally.
Collaborate with internal & external project team members to coordinate all activities associated with blueprint, design and functionality.
Test process for customers, CSR’s and business partners to resolve issues and drive deployment of production activities.
Process inbound and outbound electronic messages for the buy (RTP) and sell (STC) side.
Research, analyze and documents business and customer requirements to enable system development and enhancements that provide B2B automation for data flows.
Participate with business and project leads to develop and implement change management processes to optimize and sustain the solution. Provide training for business resources to understand how to use electronic messages.
Develop detailed and comprehensive test strategies to gain overall efficiency in test processes for new trading partners, existing trading partners, regression and enhancements.
Manage Run and Maintain Activities
Maintain and support DuPont Direct including the setup of trading partners on DuPont Direct and performance of regression testing.
Establish and test Global Work Roles to maintain SOX compliance and end user access with appropriate privileges within CSAP.
Mitigate SOD conflict risks by implementing sufficient controls for users within T&AP.
- Master Data Activity
Create /Maintain EDI Partners (SAP transaction WE20)
Create Message Control Parameters for Inbound and Outbound messages (WE20)
Create/Maintain EDPAR entries as required (VOE4)
Create/Maintain Output Conditions for outbound messages like order response, ship notice and invoices etc. (Various transactions depending on message type)
Coordinate Cross reference tables required for transactions (CMIR)
Create/Maintain staff assignments in Workflow for inbound messages (PPOME)
Maintain SAP Distribution Lists (This is used for RTP and STC functions) (SO23)
Push through any messages that may fail to process completely because of Master Data issues or connectivity issues (Via Business workflow or BD87) examples:
Customer is not set up on EDPAR table. Once set up the IDOC can be processed
Material inclusion/exclusion tables incorrect. Once corrected then IDOC can be processed
Order stuck in status 64 and needs to be processed
Troubleshoot missing documents
Troubleshoot unknown errors (STC / RTP)
Coordinate testing and production implementation for the following: system changes, customer system changes, new customer set ups, industry changes, message changes.
Bachelor's or Vocational/Technical degree; previous experience in information technology, SAP and/or EDI preferred.
Minimum of 3 year's experience in Customer Service, Information Technology and SAP required.
Must be proficient in all B2B formats (ChemXML, American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
X-12 and Electronic Data Interchange for Administration, Commerce, and Transport (EDIFACT).
Strong working knowledge of SAP R3 4.0 or higher and SAP R3 Intermediate Documents (IDOC) structures.
Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Highly developed planning/organization skills, with attention to detail.
Strong analytical skills required.
Ability to network and be a strong team player.
Quality written & oral communication skills are required to network with a diverse user community.
Read and understand B2B mapping methodologies.
Self-Managed requiring minimal direction and guidance from Supervision on the day to day operations, is dedicated to meeting business deadlines and operating at a low cost to the business.
