This is a global support role providing direction and support both cross functionally and cross platform (Seeds & Crop Protection). The Work Process SME provides technical leadership to ensure their work operating discipline content & work processes are effective in meeting the needs of the Agriculture Division within the scope for compliance, objectives and targets, and achievement of business success. This role maintain appropriate subject matter knowledge of all Management Systems elements within assigned section(s), to the level necessary to facilitate the resolution of issues affecting duplication, conflict of information, and integration of the entire section.

Changes to process chemicals, technology, equipment, facilities and personnel have caused a number of catastrophes in the manufacturing industry over the years, and the Agriculture Division wants to establish proactive ways to detect both temporary, and permanent changes and properly managed these by identifying and reviewing the implications prior to implementation. Further, establishing a quality change management process will minimize potential fines, liabilities, product recalls and damage to our company reputation as we introduce new or revised products.

This job description provides a view of the responsibilities and qualifications for the Management of Change (MOC) Work Process SME.

With the appropriate guidance from the relevant functions, the MOC Work Process SME will establish, create, document, maintain and continuously improve appropriate policies, work processes and procedures so that the Agriculture Division employees can properly manage changes as they occur, handle or process chemicals, materials, technology, equipment, facilities and personnel.

Key Responsibilities

The MOC Work Process SME will:

  • Serve as the "expert" in the Management of Change (MOC) work process content facilitating the resolution of issues affecting duplication, conflict of information, and integration of the Common Management Systems sections related to this subject.

  • Be the "Owner" of (develops, establishes, implements, audits, measures, controls, modifies) the Management Systems MOC work processes, procedures and tools for the Agriculture Division.

  • As we establish the Management Systems & Tools in all the Agriculture Division sites and supporting functions, train, coach, support, work with, etc., the appropriate sites MOC focal points / resources that will assist the effective implementation and sustainability of the MOC work process in their respective organizations to ensure the appropriate rigor in its use.

  • Establish, measure and report the MOC work processes’ implementation at sites through appropriate metrics within the Agriculture Division, and takes immediate action to correct deviations.

  • Establishes objectives and targets, and follow through with internal assessments to ensure the MOC work process continues to be effectively utilized to manage changes in the organization.

  • Work closely with the Common Management E-Tools SME to ensure appropriate functionality and user support for the MOC IT tools / applications.

  • Stays current with external trends in the Management of Change area bringing / implementing innovation that improves the Agriculture Division performance.

  • Work with sites and encourage reporting of MOC related incidents, including near misses, assist in investigations, review of incidents, set corrective action, and communicate learnings.

  • Works with the appropriate manufacturing site leaders to ensure they involve competent personnel in the MOC work process area to establish consistent implementation and keep MOC practices effective

  • Communicate on a frequent basis with the organization about MOC subjects’ status, implementation compliance, new efforts, etc.

  • Work with appropriate Functional Leaders and team on tracking and ensuring closure of MOC actions arising from incidents, audits or assessments.



  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required for this position.

  • At least 5 years of experience in chemical manufacturing or supply chain, preferably agricultural or specialty chemicals production, or in seeds production is preferred.

  • Experience in implementation of management systems or work processes

  • 10-15% Travel annually.

  • Technically proficient in process safety

  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills

  • Self-motivated

  • Strong organizational skills to enable planning, execution and implementation in a timely manner

  • Demonstrated ability in achieve results through diverse cross-functional teams

  • Proficient computer skills, data management and technical report/procedure writing

  • Excellent communication skills within all levels of the organization
