DuPont is seeking a GLP Analytical Chemist for our Industrial Biosciences Team. The job is based in Wilmington, DE but will require working in Collegeville, PA for up to 10 months.

These application areas range from preservation of personal care, latex, and paint products, to antimicrobial textiles, to treatment of large scale water process systems such as cooling water, pulp & paper and oil & gas fields. DuPont Industrial Biosciences is committed to maintaining and building our success, and we have an exciting opportunity for a GLP Analytical Chemist to join our R&D team.
Typical responsibilities include,but are not limited to:
This role will involvecarrying out analytical testing, analysis, and method development in support ofR&D, customer, and regulatory projects in accordance with GLP (GoodLaboratory Practices).
Activities will includecharacterization of biocide products, performing stability studies, determiningresidual biocide actives in a variety of matrices, and documenting results inwritten reports.
The GLP Analytical Chemist will use a varietyof instrumentation and methods of analysis including, but not limited to,HPLC,LC-MS, GC,GC-MS various wet chemistry techniques including Karl Fischertitrators, UV-spectrophotometers, and auto-titrators.
The individual will workwith scientists and technologists in a team based environment to support anddrive projects to completion.
Candidates should have agood understanding of analytical science and chromatography principles andpossess strong interpersonal and organizational skills. He/she should be ableto make ongoing contributions and improvements to test methods and equipment.
The individual must becapable of working independently with minimal instruction and be a good problemsolver.
The individual must showstrong initiative and be capable of independent work.
Formulating andpreparing samples for testing
Generating data,maintaining electronic databases, documenting results in laboratory notebooksand reports
Providing technical helpand troubleshooting for existing laboratory processes and instrumentation
Maintaining a safe andclean laboratory as well as all other assigned areas of responsibility
Generating andmaintaining documentation for the safe and productive operation of equipmentand tools.
Maintaining laboratorysupply inventory
Assisting in theinstallation and validation of new equipment and analytical tools
Training new andexisting personnel on equipment and procedures.
Working safely in anR&D environment, actively participating in company safety programs
The following are required:
A minimum of anAssociate’s degree is required.
A minimum of 3years full time working experience in a GLP analytical laboratory setting isrequired.
Excellent written andverbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoftapplications and ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
Familiarity withequipment interfaced to computer databases, software, and data acquisitionsystems
A self-starter withability to balance multiple projects on different timelines
Proven ability andpassion for working within a highly collaborative environment.
Sets high standards ofpersonal excellence and demonstrates these behaviors in work habits
Strong mechanicalskills, independent problem solving, and strong attention to detail
A minimum requirementfor this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the UnitedStates on a permanent basis (U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, orQualifying Asylee/Refugee).
In 9-12 months, this role will moveto our Wilmington, DE location.
The following are preferred:
Bachelor of Sciencedegree in Chemistry is highly preferred.
Five years full-timeworking experience in a GLP analytical laboratory setting; experience in roleof Study Director is highly desirable
Strong experience withGC and HPLC techniques is desirable
Working knowledge andexperience in GC/MS and LC/MS is desirable.
Previous experience in ahighly regulated environment under GLP and/or cGMP is highly desirable
A solid foundation inchemistry and basic organic chemistry is highly desirable
Experience in writingGLP-compliant technical reports is highly desirable
