DuPont Transportation and Advanced Polymers (T&AP) is seeking a dynamic, ambitious, and reliable Molding Technician that will be responsible for hands-on molding of test specimens, plaques, and prototype parts. This individual should have experience in the polymer injection molding, and have a safety mind set.

Responsibilities

  • Routinely and safely operates molding machines and auxiliary equipment including fork lifts and cranes as needed to facilitate work flow.

  • Responsible for mold set-up and start-up, process verification, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of any issues related to the injection molding process.

  • Documents and maintains all relevant process parameters to ensure stable molded parts throughout mold processing.

  • Identify machine problems and works with maintenance personnel to facilitate repairs and preventive maintenance on injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, molds and material handling/delivery equipment.

  • Collaborates with technical personnel within T&AP to support applications development and R&D programs, as well use troubleshooting processes problems from customer molded parts.

  • Ensure molding of quality parts and test specimens through adhering to ISO and ASTM standards.

  • Assist in process improvements to improve quality of molded parts .

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Polymer/Plastics Processing, Mechanical Engineering or Polymer Engineering based degree

  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience and training in Injection Molding equipment and process troubleshooting. Experience in troubleshooting problems on injection presses and processing is preferred.

  • Must have demonstrated ability to SAFELY operate equipment in accordance with applicable procedures.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required to effectively interact with all levels of personnel in the organization

  • Demonstrated ability to engage, collaborate. and share knowledge in a team environment.

  • Computer proficiency with MS Office suite (Outlook, Word and Excel)

  • Flexibility of schedule with ability to work extended hours if required.

  • Highly organized and attentive to detail.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time regularly.

  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds and occasionally lift up to fifty (55) pounds.

  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to bending, lifting, reaching, pushing and/or pulling.

  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee regularly uses both manual and powered hand tools (electrical and air powered).
