The Specialty Products Division of DowDuPont is a leader in procurement operational excellence for our core products and businesses. We are building a team to develop best-in-class procurement policies and systems for the unique needs of outside-the-core growth projects that require rapid uncertainty reduction through multiple iterations of build-measure-learn. The Specialty Products Division of DowDuPont, Global Procurement organization is seeking a Procurement Innovation Lead to work closely with the businesses (1) to identify opportunities for responsibly streamlining procurement processes for early-stage growth projects and (2) to implement new systems and procedures that accelerate the pace of learning and experimentation in the ideation through incubation phases of development. The Procurement Innovation Lead will drive multiple “startups” across the company, serving as the single point of contact for procurement issues related to innovation projects - ranging from new business models to new technologies and markets.

The Procurement Innovation Lead will be responsible for:

  • Establishing direct Procurement linkage to Technology and Marketing teams, with a clear understanding and active participation on innovation strategies and projects

  • Driving innovation by understanding industry landscape, material trends and supplier capabilities, actively driving SRM (supplier relationship management) with strategic suppliers

  • Developing and executing sourcing strategies for projects that require optimizing risk management with respect to speed, not pricing.

  • Acting as central coordinator for all innovation based activities in procurement.

  • Identifying appropriate level of engagement on key initiatives, escalating to senior managers as necessary.

  • Working with Legal to develop & negotiate confidentiality agreements, contracts and commercial agreements, that optimize risk management with respect to speed.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA strongly preferred.

  • 4+ years of sourcing / procurement experience, preferably in start-up companies or “intrapreneural” projects in large companies using Lean Startup methods.

  • Work experience with R&D and innovation project management highly preferred.

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint with outstanding data structuring skills. Good proficiency in MS Word and SharePoint.

  • Demonstrated experience in project management, change management, value stream & process mapping, and Lean/Six Sigma.
