The Project Team Leader is the single point of accountability for execution of the end-to-end capital project process. This role will lead facility modification projects up to $5M across the United States. The position will be based in Wilmington, DE but the successful candidate will be expected to travel to DuPont laboratory and office facilities and lead projects at those facilities. Sets overall Project Leadership Team direction and expectations. Responsible for performing and participating in engineering analyses, design reviews, calculations and planning functions. Plans, leads, and manages all engineering activities associated with the assigned capital projects over the total project life from inception to utilization. The Project Team Leader will also be expected at times to also act as the Construction Manager remotely. This role is a member of a Capital Engineering group, and reports to the Capital Engineering Manager.

Qualifications

  • Lead project teams consisting of cross functional teammembers with Contract Design and Construction Management firms to meetbusiness objectives.

  • Accountable for generating and implementing appropriateproject execution strategy for design, procurement and construction.

  • Engages with Engineering Leadership as needed to ensurealignment with business objectives, address any needs or concerns, makestrategic project decisions, and provide status updates throughoutexecution of assigned projects.

  • Provides leadership for an effective and cohesive teamby ensuring roles and responsibilities are clearly understood.

  • Ensures project deliverables are accomplished in aquality and timely manner.

  • Leads the project gatekeeping reviews.

  • Leads the team in identifying non-cap alternatives orlower capital options.

  • Ensures adherence to Process Safety Management (PSM),Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) excellence, Mechanical Integrityand Quality Assurance (MIQA) requirements, export controls and trade secretsprinciples, and other core value standards, processes and procedures asapplicable.

  • Facilitates economic evaluations, prepares fundingrequests, forecasts project expenditures and asset write-offs, and ensuresnecessary financial reporting and accounting is performed.

  • Champions the “no change” concept and ensures onlychanges consistent with the business and project objectives are approved.

  • Primary DuPont interface with the Contract Engineeringfirms during Front-End Loading (FEL) and Design/Procurement of assignedcapital projects.

  • Drive full integration of project team to developproject deliverables in the most cost effective and efficient way.

  • Assist Sites with obtaining local design andconstruction resources, and qualifying new suppliers through Sourcing forremote locations.

  • Able to work independently and lead projectsremotely with minimal guidance from leadership.

  • Capable of leading construction activities.

  • Experience working on laboratory and officerenovation projects a plus.

  • Travel requirement for this position is 25% -40% across the United States
